merida 96 / 120 question

i was wondering if anyone out there could tell me which each is better adapted to, i've been looking at the 96 and the 120 duel sus range, and i can no where find what each is specialzed for? in terms of xc, all mountain etc.

96 is a pure race bike, stiff racing geom with limited travel.  aimed at the marathon and xc rider

 

120 more for your trail/free rider, more comfy but will climb like the 96
