I baught a giant indoor trainer. I have set it up but I want to know if it is normal for it to make

such a noise whan I use it?

Indoor trainers are normally noisy. Some are more noisy than others. The really expensive ones seem to be a bit better. Are you using a mountain bike or road bike?

If it is a mountain bike with off-road (non slicks) it will be even worse.

Thank you for the reply, I am indeed using a MTB with off road tires.

Will try slicks because it makes one hell of a noise.

I have been using a trainer for the last two years using a mtb.

You might find the following tips usefull:

Buy a second rear wheelset fitted with slicks. A headache to keep changing tyres - especially tubeless.

Buy a second cheaper chain and use a cheaper cog for use on the trainer only.

Use normal tyres (not trainer specific), much cheaper and work just as well.

Use a fan/blower for cooling - blowing from the rear seems to work the best for me.

Buy a heart monitor

I find it so boring to sit on a trainer but just did a 45min

session with pumping music and that seems to work.

also put a big fan on you that helps with the sweat.

Doing time on a indoor trainer is always boring, but once you get use to it it is not so bad. Most people give up to quickly. I normally ride while I am watching a TV show. Seems to keep my mind busy so that I don't get bored on the bike.
