M10 for 2011

Sacrilege putting SRAM on a Colnago - Campy only!

Beaut of a bike, though. I still ride my 1998 Colnago Technos with Campag Chorus (all original).

Recently they asked Adrie van der Poel, ex-pro and now DS at Rabobank, what he felt the biggest single factor of improvement was during the last 10 years at Rabobank. His answer: the move from Colnago to Giant! Makes you think...

how would he know, riding todays bmx`s would be better than what he rode on in his day as a pro.

colnago had a few years down time but look at the product they now have....

im pretty sure the new m10 is as good if not better than anything out there

I also noticed on the web site not one of their bikes are spec'd with Campag ....... <_<

the bikes are made in the east and Campag in Italy. They normally ship directly from the factory to the distributor to save costs. Now if they have to fit Campag to it, then 1. the frames must either be shipped to Italy to be build up and then shipped or 2. the groupsets need to be shipped to the east. Raleigh tried it with one bike that came with Veloce. It was more expensive then a bike fitted with Ultegra.

Thanks Mampara, but what about the C59, It's "hand built" in Italy? Still got Sram Red on it.

It does make sense thou.

Hand built or hand manufactured in Italy? My Raleigh was hand build in my kitchen. It was manufactured in the east though. Some companies say hand build and that means it was assembled in where ever they are.

Only some of the bikes are made in the East, in the Giant factory to be precise. Any frame is available with any groupset. The Taiwan made Ace is available with Shimano or Campy. I heard that Campy may be, or has shifted some production to the east anyway, so so much for that.

The C59 is made and bonded in Italy, although the carbon tubing probably comes from the east. I believe the only bike companies that actually loom their own carbon fiber is Time and Giant. Everyone else outsources it.

I had a look at the Colnago site and they have quite a few bikes pictured with Campy. Click on the colour link for each model and you'll see different colour bikes with different groups.

As for saying Colnago and Campy go together, in the pro ranks this is one of the first years that we've seen Colnago's running Campy. Rabobabk used Shimano for years. In fact, there are probably more Colnago races won in the last 20 years with Shimano components than with Campy.

Not to say i'm a Shimano guy, i'm Campag all the way.

Im pretty sure that the carbon on the C59 comes from ITALY as well..not the east... not out the Colango factory obviously as they dont manufacture carbon but an italian factory in Italy..well thats the last i heard..

The colnago bikes can be done with any groupset at all..sram, campag ,shimano,
