American Classic MTB 26 Disc

I have a set of 2008 American Classic MTB 26 Disc 350 rims (non-tubeless) and would like to if anybody have done a tubeless conversion on these rims? I am planning to purchase the Continental Race King 2.2 Tubeless tires.

No Problem currently running same wheels with stans conversion and Mavic Crossmark lust ust 2.1. No leaks. You will need a high presssure pump as hand and foot pump don't work when absolutely flat.

Cool!

Did you use the Stans rim strip, Stans rim tape or ghetto strip (BMX tube)?

I have the same setup as above. You will not be sorry. Changed my MTB cycling for the best. Run back at 2 bar and front at 1.8/1.9. Use foot pump to inflate.

There is an alternative. Instead of the stans strip, buy the tape at your hardware store and two joes/stans tubeless valves from your lbs.

Seal your rims with the tape, use 2 layers that overlap at the center, or 3 layers if you have wide rims.

Pierce the tape with a pen and stick the valves through it.

Use stans sealant, tubeless tyres and a strong compressor and they seat easily.

Thanks Guys!

PhilipV, do you cover the whole inside of the rim with the tape with the 3 layers (or do you leave a few millimetres uncovered)?
