  1. Road bike for me, I got 30 mm tyres. Use stans, pressure between 4.5 to 5 bar. At moment no issues. But also depends on the size of the hole that needs to be sealed. Glass cuts is a big issue to seal.
  2. On road bike I check every 4 months. Using Stans
  3. That was super long time ago. cannot remember. I say R1500, will include 28 mm tires (not on rims at the moment)
  4. Friend of mine wants to buy Easton EA70 Rim brake wheelset from me (moved on to disk wheels). What is a fair price to ask him?
  5. The Local distributor replaced my Ultegra which was outside warranty (3 years) with a Dura Ace, although it did take some persuasion from my LBS. Lets wait and see what will happen in SA.
  6. Was out of warranty? At no cost for Dura Ace (only courier cost). Local BS managed to get this, not sure if from agents. Will use the DA (since I got it at no cost), if it cracks again, will look for something reliable.
  7. Bains Kloof pass after they have redone the surface is an awesome ride
  8. It seems that I will get a Dura Ace Hollowtech II FC-9000 as a replacement.
  9. I was busy riding from Wellington to Paarl, up Du Toits Kloof, then back to Wellington, then up Bains Kloof pass. My legs felt so good after Du Toits Kloof, looking forward to do Bains Kloof pass. Then I was forced to stop. That sucks😊
  10. My Shimano Ultegra R8000 crank failed on me this weekend on my way down Du Toits Kloof pass. I was lucky it did not came apart while riding. About 4 weeks ago I experienced a squeaking noise while pedaling (around bottom bracket). Replaced BB, no luck. Could not find the issue until I could feel side way movement on drive side crank when pedaling last weekend. Contacted Shimano (through my local bike shop). No luck, warrantee only 2 years (my crank 3 years old). No replacement, although this is a known issue with Dura Ace and Ultegra cranks (google). The agent also say that there is no more Ultegra 11 speed cranks available ( not that I will go for Ultegra again). Will be purchasing Shimano 105 R7000 cranks which do not have the same issues (forged Hollow tech technology, not glued together like Ultegra and DA). If you have Ultegra or Dura Ace cranks check for cracks regularly.
  11. My experience: The CIOVITA CORSA 2.0 comfortable, but material do not last long (See through, not nice sight). The CIOVITA SUPPREMO material no issue, but to much padding for me. Still using it for 1 - 2 hour rides (no material issues, being using it for a long time). I decide to spend some $ and got ASSOS GT and ASSOS GT C2. The ASSOS great for and long distance (not to thick padding). No material issues Paid good price at Bike Addict for ASSOS. Cheaper than CIOVITA SUPPREMO (was a special). If somebody is interested I do have a CIOVITA SUPPREMO XL (black). Used 3 times. Make me a price (bit embarrassed to sell "used" bib, but still new). To big for me. Using L size
  12. Why not do circular route. 1. From Rondebosch find your way to Durbanville, go down Adderly street. Turn left at the end towards Philadelphia 2. From Philadelphia towards N7, on N7 to Melkbos turn off and so on. Or can do Schoonsdrift from Philadelphia, Melkbos, then home. If strong SE wind predicted for day 2, nr 2 for 1st day. can contact me if you need more detail of route.
  13. I do cycle from Melkbos up to the N7 then left towards Malmesbury, at new bridge right towards Philadelphia on regular basis, The section of N7 is much safer than using the Mamre road toward Atlantis (i do not cycle that part on my own anymore). The surface along this section of the N7 is awesome for road bike. You can also when getting to the N7 from Melkbos, turn right towards Cape Town, after 5 km left taking the Schoonsdrift road, some potholes, just go slow on down hill. Some extra km
  14. I heard thatBainskloof pass is closed due to roadworks. Is it still possible to cycle the pass? Would like to do it this Sunday from Wellington towards Ceres and back
  15. Good to know. Will probably replace rotors after next set of pads
  16. Nothing on outside of rotor referring to resin only. Got Ultegra SM-RT800-S rotors
  17. I can also get resin Swisstop pads, I believ resin (not fin cooled). Disc 34 E
  18. I am currently using Shimano ultegra brake calipers with L03A resin pads on my roadbike. Need to replace the pads soon, but cannot find the resin L03A pads. Can find the metalic L04C pads. Have anybody used the L04C pads on their roadbike. I am just scared that it will be very noisy in normal conditions (dry).
  19. Open for persons working at Koeberg (me), but still closed for public
