noisy American classic disc 130 hub

OK so my rear hub creaks when I am on the gas on a climb. The sound is a clicking noise not dissimilar to the sound a poorly adjusted rear dérailleur makes with the chain rubbing the sprocket.

 

I have dissembled an reassembled the hub and the sound disappears for a short while but halfway through the next ride it is back. The bearings seem fairly smooth, no rumbling or grinding....any help?

I had the same issue if it is the same.

I found that taking the cassette off and putting some grease on the freebody splines worked well.

hmm OK will try that one....I did notice some discoloration last time, will give that a bash. thanks!
