When my little hubber arrives next year, first prezzie when it's old enough is a bike.

 

Fifth birthday is the bike birthday. I am biased because that was when I got my first "two wheeler", and when son of bikemonster got his. Small persons do need a certain amount of co-ordination, survival instinct and hand strength for cable brakes.

 

To help you get there, Giant make an awesome, indestructible tricycle...which is great for a third birthday prezzie.

Anyone looking to buy their little ones a bicycle should look at something like this. Lasts up until 5 years apparently.

It teaches balance. My can ride along for a bit with his feet up so the transision to normal bicycle (without trainer wheels) should be a fairly easy one.

Awesome. Y-bike have just launched there balance bikes so would be interesting but that KTM is the coolest I've yet seen
