Time Trial bike vs. Relaxed geometry road bike setup

Hi guys

I've recently upgraded from a Scott Speedster S20 2006 model frameset as the bike is slightly too small for me.

I've decided to use this Scott frame as a TT bike/frame but am worried whether the 'relaxed' geometry can be converted to an aggressive setup.

The bike is slightly too small and therefore the top tube is shorter which means I can move more forward on the bike. The headtube is about 170mm which is really long considering the bike is a 56cm. Can one buy i.e. -30 degree stems and set-forward seatposts to undo the 'relaxed' geometry?

Has anyone done this before? What are the pros and cons about using an old road frame as a TT bike?

I would be a bit concerned that your weight ends up too far over the front of the bike. TT bikes generally have more angled forks which allows for better control even with your weight shifted forward.

Pros:

Cheaper as you already own the frame.

Cons:

Using a road bike frame in a way it was not designed to be used means there will be compromises in handling and performance (and possibly safety as the bike may end up being very twitchy).
