Crater Cruise 2010

I have never done a MTB race, but I do have a Canondale F7 MTB. A friend of mine said that the 56km race is not too bad for a beginner and when I saw the advertisement in the latest (October) RIDE magazine, I decided to bite the bullet and went online to enter this event.

 

However, when I go to the http://www.cratercruise.co.za website, I am getting this message: “Online Pre Entries for the 2010 Crater Cruise Cycling Festival are now Closed” Surely the advertisement in the magazine stated that the pre entries closes on the 30th of September? No mention was made of a time, so normally one would assume it to be at midnight. I immediately e-mailed the organizers to find out what the situation is. I got a response a little while later. This is where I fall of the bus. The ad in the magazine stated " pre entries closes 30 September 2010". Not having given any time, I have assumed this to be at midnight 30 September 2010. WRONG!!!! According to the organizers, the pre entries closed at midnight yesterday. Here is their response "ja op 0h00 van die 29ste, m.a.w die 30st is die inskrywings gesluit!" If that is the case, why did they not state it more clearly, or is is just me that is a bit doff?

Late entries (pre-entries) can be done at registration. On 1 October a LATE entry form will be available on the site. Please complete and pay at registration (Credit and Debit Cards will be accepted at registation)
