MTB'ing @ Midmar - during Midmar Mile time - Any cool trails?

So, my wife decided to swim the Midmar Mile next year Feb, but I am just not into the swimming thing... and being a mile long swim, I'm also not into the drowining thing!

 

Anyway, so we're going down to the Midmar dam for the second weekend of February and I'd like to do some riding while my wife and all the others go for a swim.

 

Any awesome trails nearby? Or any races happening in that area on 12 February?
