I'm building up a Niner Jet 29'er. Last build came in at 11.4kgs - pretty good for a 29" dual suss... (I think?)

Next one (now building) will use a 2 x 10 groupset. Weights are as follows:

Cranks + BB - 840g

Trigger shifters - 180g (I prefer gripshifts but these are not yet available)

Brakeset, both - 400g

Cassette - 200g

Chain - 200g (uncut - not fitted yet - will be lighter)

Rotors, both - 160g

RD - 140g

FD - 100g

So - 2.20kg for the complete groupset, with rotors... Sounds good to me!

never really looked at the weight of XX but some of those a really impressive......

Although I do like the 'look' of the new XTR especially their 28/40 crankset.

good thing I can't afford either :-)

I have a full XX groupset on my Giant Anthem Advanced,

moved from a XT groupset on my old MTB to the XX, at first the down shifting of the gears was strange but I got over that, the position of the brakes / shifters was also a problem at first, I had them too close to the grips, you have to position them further away to allow free movement of your thumb (up and down shift via the thumb)

I now love the groupset, it works really well and the 2 x 10 is excellent, I went for a 42/28 in the front and a 11/36 in the back, the gearing is so wide that I rarely have to use the small chainring, don't miss the granny gear at all.

Enjoy, it's a Rolce Royce groupset.

I'm running XO grip shift on my XX cranks, works perfectly, much better than the triple blade.

Although I am still running the XO rear derailleur and cassette.
