Am looking at getting a stiffer spring for my rear shock. But not sure exactly what rate to go to. How does one determine which spring is the right one for ones weight as I do not want to buy multiple springs.

initially, the correct spring rating will ensure you have the correct sag, ie how far your suspension compresses under you static body weight. Then when out riding, if you think u need a lighter or heavier spring, then change accordingly. First priority is getting your sag right.
