Thule small parts - Euro ride 943

Hey all

 

Getting one of these but needs some parts it seems. http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/thule-euroride-943

 

How do you mount the number plate ? Can cable tie it/double sided tape, but guess I need to get a mount for it.

Also I need to get the lock thingys that lock the frame holders, part 562 I think.

 

Any idea on cost or where to get - lbs, thule centre or online ?

Maybe something 2nd hand here ?

Hmm seems I must rather use a cable lock

Anyone know of this issue ?

 

•The locking mechanism for the knobs — and this applies for all Thule models — have a serious flaw in their design. Although you can “lock” the knob (which causes the knob to spin freely rather than unscrewing), you can in fact unscrew the knob even while it is in the locked position if you pinch the jaws of the arm together before spinning the knob.

 

You have been warned. Do not rely on the Thule locking knobs, but get a separate cable or D lock if you anticipate leaving the bike on the car unattended for any significant duration.

The numberplate clips are moulded into the plastic. (area where numberplate fits.)

There should be four. Just twist and break two clips loose.

There are holes where you pust the clips into, after fitting the numberplate.

 

You only need two lockable knobs. (From Thule - cannot remember price +- R300)
