Sram X7 & XX

Building up a bike for 2011 MTB XCO race season. The components will be Sram XX (2X10).Anyone know of any reason why a X7 rear cassette & chain cannot be put on for training and keep the XX cassette & chain for racing? Will the XX chain rings work with the X7?

If they are both 10 speed, my guess is it would be fine.

My line of thinking as well, I have read somewhere of XX having a single directional chain. I was wondering if the chain rings somehow different.

The X7 casette comes in 11-32 or 12-36 in the 10spd (PG1050) and will work with 9 or 10 spd chains.

So as long as you use a 10spd cassette and 10spd chain you should be good

Your reasoning is one of the reasons they made that X7 group to start with
