mtb in the shelly beach area- South Coast

I will be spending the festive season in the

south coast - shelly beach area. Does anybody know

of any riding trails in this area that i may visit?

Head out to Lake Eland....there are some really nice marked trails through Oribi Gorge. I did the Lake Eland Super Classic out there and was very impressed.

 

You could also head towards Clearwater Trails, but its further on (Port Edward side)

Head to clearwater trails in Port Edward - the best Mtbing on the south coast - hands down.

Jan, the owner, is a rad guy and a great rider.

There is Tuckers Trails, and also riding in the reserve near by Vernon Crookes

When are you around in the area, I should be near Green Point for a week.

You can always go and talk to the people at Dura Cycles in Uvongo and Bobby's cycles opposite Shelly centre. I'm sure they can point you to where the locals ride.

Hi,

There is some awesome riding in the area, mostly organised by Jono at Dura Cycles in Margate.

Club rides leave from Dura on weekend mornings and I think Wednesday evenings.

I know that he's also organising a 3 day ride from about the 16th of December, but it will involve some sleeping out.

Also probably a four day ride from 26 December with one night sleeping out which will be some good hard training.
