About a week and a half ago I got hit by a taxi. My bike is a complete write off and thankfully insurance is covering it. I have about 20K to buy a new road bike. I have been looking at the Cannondal Six Carbon 5 for R20800.00.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

As Mavric Man says, nothing wrong with that. I cannot say what your finances are, but it might just be the one time in your life that; if you had an extra 10K+, you'd be able to buy a bike that you might never ever be able to afford. It's just a thought! Nice dale though. I haven't been in this position so I'm not sure what I would do myself.

5 strippers for the weekend that would do it, Might have some change for a secons hand bike then

jokes aside, Only bike I have ever ridden has been cannondale, had plenty in my life time even just bought a mtb cannondale so that would be my choice.

You can also get a complete Giant TCR carbon for just over R20k. Keep in mind that there's two different types/designes of TCR carbon frames. I know that the one is a bit more expensive than the other.

I can build you a bike like this, with full sram rival 2011 and fulcrum 5 wheels, ritchey WCS handlebar and stem and selle italia saddle for R 20 000

Or with 2011 new 105 groupset, same wheels and handlebars etc for R 18 500.00
