howzit,

I put some carbon grease on my seatpost for a race this weekend. I road the bike twice and the seat didnt slip. In the race it slipped but I think its because it rained and washed all the grease away. How often must carbon grease be applied and is it normal for the carbon grease to wash away so easily.

Cheers,

Andrew

its an aero seatpost, so the frame has slits on the two sides as well as on the rear of the post. water can easily get in there. I had to leave my bike in transition over night, and it rained the whole night and during the day. Can you guys recommend any carbon paste etc or should i just wrap the post with some coke tin. the seatpost is carbon and so is the bike, but the inside of where the seatpost fits has an alloy layer. I dont want to strip the seat clamp as I have already and had to buy a new one.

thanks for the offer, i will definately take it up. I have just stripped the seat clamp for the second time. i am so over this planet x frame. I'm in thailand and just did finished the laguna phuket triathlon. I will only be back in sa on the 14th. I have another clamp, which i stuck a bolt through. I have put to retangular peices of coke tin on the sides of the seat post so it grips better with the alloy of the frame. hopefully it works. Can i come see you when I get back?
