I was runnig a negative 20 degree stem on my 29er and on my 26er I'm keeping it 'conservative' with negative 10 degrees.

 

Smaller riders always have trouble with the front ends being to high as its governed by wheel size, fork length and head tube lengths which cant get much shorter than 100mm

 

negative 6 on my Cross bike for whats its worth......
