St Lucia has tar all around it, quiet tar road 20-25km to Mtubatuba thorugh the Dukuduku forests (I will not venture into these though, squatters invaded it years ago when I still lived in Zululand). I will not venture past Mtubatuba on any bike though.

Rather take the MTB as you might even be able to hit the gravel road to Cape Vidal, and veer off to the various sight-seeing spots.

I am going to St. Lucia for 5 days over new years. Any advise on roads or paths?

Must I take my mtb or roadbike with?

Relax, catch a fish or two and enjoy the sun.

id say take the MTB, i live in mtuba and that road that was spoken about above would be very dangerous with a road bike as it really narrow with lots of blind rises and dips.

speak to the guys at the cape vidal gate, they might let you cycle along the roads in the reserve.
