MRI Scan

Well my shoulder been giving me hassles for a while now so I make sure I go through the correct channels for my Medical aid to make sure everything gets approved. I know that I am going to have to go for a op in the end anyway.

So I go to the GP who sends me for x-rays and a sonar, then o back to the GP so he can send me to a specialist. Go to the specialist with the x-rays and sonar, He then takes another sonar and says OK you must go for a MRI scan.

So I went today for the MRI scan, firstly I am not the smallest of okes and that was the worst experience that I have ever had 55mins in that machine.

So then off to the Specialist afterwards just for him to say. Well we going to have to operate. How's next Tuesday for you.

So going in on Tuesday for my shoulder op. 3 weeks in a sling and who know's how long off the bike. Already got a slick for the MTB for the turbo trainer.

So if you ever need to go for a MRI scan be prepared not such a great thing. But I person's got to do what you got to do.

Let me warn you that you will go crazy over the next couple of weeks. I went through the same thing, been off the bike for three weeks and then eventually couldn't take it anymore. Did the GP, Sonar, X-Ray, Specialist, MRI, Specialist thing but luckily I didn't need an op. The specialist said lots of rest and take some of these pills.

Well, the pills are finished, my knie feels better and I slowly started to do LSD's again. In only three weeks I got withdrawl symptoms when I see people riding their bikes. I get angry when I see the last race for the year only a week away and I was forbode to do it faster than a TEMPO pace and then I got scared thinking of Attakwas just around the corner... BUT, I'll be in your valley doing the Argus, just look for the crazy Vaalie with his MTB (with knobblies).

Good luck with trying to stay sane, you are going to need it :-) The shoulder will heal, no sweat.
