Difference between garmin Edge705 and Edge500

I am not sure how often you would use that functionality on a MTB/Road bike. I have the Garmin 500, awsome. bye bye Polar

yeah exactly... I had an edge705 and my son misplaced it, so i need to get a new GPS, but the 705 is R1800 more than the 500...

 

so I reckon edge500 it is...

500 does not have mapping function (base or card) and an some workout/training features of the 800. The only thing better than the 800 is the battery life and weight.

It just does not include local maps. Luckily I have a set I can use.

705's should be dirt cheap in the near future. Staff at Linden Cycles told me that the 800s will be available locally in 2Q 2011.

Just remember that "sometimes" customs will hit you with 30% depending what they view the device as on that day....This is what I was told when I called them and since it sits between the 2 catagories the women said "depends on how the officer intuprets the guidlines" but technically it should only be VAT.

The difference is surely 205? Have you checked out www.bikeinn.com? Edge 800 pack for R3778. My mate bought his 500 from them and their service was great.

If I was you, I would either get the 500 or 800 but not 705.
