Sounds like you've got a spacer too many on the drive side of the crank ...

 

Thanx climate just check the spacing on both sides and it looks like that might be the problem

The XTR cranks have a spacer on the drive side to fix this. It should have been on the crank already?!?! Maybe the bike it was taken off was set differently. It is a small plastic piece that fits on the spline of the crank. About 2 mm or so thick. You will probably need to get one to make it all work properly. Putting spacers on the BB might also fix the problem but I have never tried it that way. My Epic also needed it to work properly as it had a press-fit BB and you can't really put spacers on that. I have one but I see you a bit far from CT!!!
