2010 & 2011 Components

Hi all

 

Can anyone please answer my question:

 

How can I quickly identify the 2011 Ultegra components? Is there any significant visual difference?

Reason I am asking is because I am busy buying a new bike and the shop says it is a 2011 bike but I have seen that bike standing there last year. Maybe they put on 2011 parts.

Both '10 and '11 Ultegra groupsets are the same. Both have 6700 model numbers. I think 6703 is for triple cranks and left shifter.

One other thing I am 1.85m, what size would you suggest? The shop has a 54cm (Medium frame) if I remember correctly and says it should be right because it is like a compact frame design or something like that.

A 54 compact frame is big. I am 1.88 and ride a 52 (M) compact which I had to "shorten" with a 90mm stem. Before that I was on a 56 regular shape frame. Every manufacturer's sizing is different.

Best thing to do is look at the manufactures website and their recommendation for what size you should ride.

 

The search the web for bike meansurements and see what your recommended top tube should be...then look at the geometry and get the one with the correct TT.

But check out the manufactures measurements as suggested - length of the top tube (level not sloped) should be your main concern.
