Hi guys

I have a set of Easton EA90SLX 2010 wheels that I use for racing wheels... I was wondering if it would be possible to buy a set of Easton EC90 Aero rims and then build these rims to my current hubs??

The reason I'm asking is because it could save me a sh!tload of money because the hubs are the actual expensive part of a good set of wheels and I anyway wont be using the EA90SLX's if I have the deep sections...

If not possible, how about other wheel brands

Thanks for the feedback

im interested to know about this aswell. i have a set of easton Orion 2's. they have awsome hubs (24 hole front and 28 rear). i would like to get my hands on a pair of racey rims for those hubs, and get JB to build them? What rims are available?

I tried to purchase a rear rim from the easton agents in ct and they were not interested.

I eventualy had to send my rim to them for a re build.

Good luck in getting a set, even JB has had bad service from them.

Doing what you want to do presents you with three problems.

1) Omnico - won't sell the rims alone.

2) Geometry - different "section" rims will require different length spokes.

3) Omnico - or have I mentioned that? Omnico seems to think it is the god of wheels and no-one else should be allowed to work on an Easton wheel.

I have a set of Easton EA 70's. they are exactly 1 year old. I have broken spokes 3 times on the rear wheel. First time LBS replaced the "eatson" spoke. 6 weeks later another spoke broke. So we sent the wheel to Omnico, got it back couple of weeks later, so called re built by there "pros".... 2 months later another went? Thats when omnico had no stock of spokes, and i homemade a spoke (remember the debate on an ealier thread that no-one said was possble) Well that one is still running fine and true.

JB, one day when i decide what i want, i will have you build me a set.

Just for the record, i'm not heavy on wheels, this is the only wheel that i have ever broken spokes on!!! Nor am i knocking Easton wheels, i have a set of orions that have been awesome since 2007.
