Mojoman Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I have just bought some gear cable and now when I get back home I see it has a plastic sheath inner, is this right? My old cable does not have this. It says Shimano SLR on the cable.

Just be sure to "open" it up again with a sharp object after you've cut it prior to inserting the cable..
Mojoman Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 Thanks, I have put it all together, now when you use the barrel adjuster on the shifters the whole cable wants to turn as well, any tips on sorting that out so I can make some adjustments?
AndreZA Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Did you put a plastic ferrule on the housing where it enters the barrel adjuster? That makes the cut end smoother.
