Hi All,

I have a Giant hard tail MTB and a Giant racing bike that I need serviced. Can anyone recommend a place in Somerset West? I dont want to spend a fortune but also dont want to take it to someone that will do more harm than good.

Regards,

NonesZA

Speak to Malan or Heino at Cycle Addiction 021 851 8021, just off main road Somerset West. Best in the area in my opinion.

You can contact Jaco on 0847018249, they have a cycle maintenance centre in Somerset West called Cycle Function. They do delivery and collect etc, best to call him for detail.

The budget options are Eddie at Jaynic (next to Vees Video main Road). 021-851-4084 / 074-143-4803

Eddie also does collections / dropoffs and will service any bike - the only guy that caters for chain store bikes. He is ex Mavrics (now Cycle Addiction mechanic).

There is also Williams ex-mechanic Ben who is now working from Helderberg Village Walk at his dance studio - but Ben is not always available.

So there you go, we got quiet a good choice in Somerset West.

** EDIT: My bike is actually at Eddie today for its new fork and I have no issues taking it to him. Also Eddie, Williams and now Cycle Addiction are the Giant stores in the Helderberg.

Funny no-one mentions taking your bike to Helderberg Cycle World, anyone have any experience in dealing with them?

Funny you should mention that!! I promised myself NOT to post about my experience at Helderberg Cycles...but since you asked...

Peetie is a nice guy and friendly, however he could not get my Shimano XT hub for me in what i call a reasonable time...(3 weeks on from 14 Dec...). Always a story from his shop assistants - and i'm still waiting fopr a call back from any one of them...

Price was also way too much!! DOUBLE the CRC asking price....(if that is any comparison)

All in all, I walked away from the shop not being entirely happy with the level of service I received after paying a premium price!

My first choice will be Cycle addiction / Williams...also great guys!!

Since I've yet to recieve any service from this guy, I cannot comment. He is more interested in his DSTV cycling than his customers

I don't, I live in Lakeside which is 42Km away. SO when I say William is brilliant remember that I am driving a moerse long way out of my area to go there!

HCW....Don't mention the war [spits]
