Fun in the Mud

I saw something today that just left me with a warm feeling. For those of you that know Groenkloof you will know the section of jeep track next to the R21 highway and a particular section that is waterlogged for about 20 - 30 meters. Well I saw a young boy of about 8 years old whom I suspect either fell off in the mud or found the crossing a little challenging. Nonetheless, when I came across him he was standing knee deep in the mud having an absolute whale of a time with his bike lying on the side of the track. He was splashing about with no concern for what he or his bike looked like, a true mountain biker in the making! :D If he did fall, or was apprehensive, any fear he may have had was long gone as was evident by the sheer joy on his face.

To the blond lady with him ( I suspect you may have been his mom) by just letting this youngster play you have left him with a memory that will live with him for the rest of his life, hats off to you! I sure that the photos you took will have a fond place in your family album. ;)

I arrived home from my ride this am to find my 5yr old having an absolute ball playing in a muddy puddle. When she was finished I had to carry her to the shower to clean her off, so no muddy footprints in the house, I should have just hosed her off, that's what my dad used to do.
