Hi

I am going in for a hip replacement and part of the rehab is to cycle indoors.

I need a very stable unit so an indoor trainer with a road bike is not really an option

I would like something that will closely resemble my bike from a comfort point of view and set up.I want quality tho

Are there any suggestions?

Oh and I need to buy in Jhb

Cheers

Sorry to hear about that but nowadays hip replacements have developed into a fiely tuned procedure that is very successfull. I can remember my mothers joy when she could walk without pain anymore.

I do not know much about spinners but you will have to go for one of the more modern ones that can be infinitely adjusted. The normal square tubing with holes in it Schwinn type spinner will not work here. I will also benefit you of you have it set up before you go for the operation. Getting used to the new spinner and rsultant setup will also be beneficial. It may also be worthhile if you can do this with a sports physician in conjunction with your ortopedist. JUST DO NOT GO ABOUT BLINDLY WITH THIS BECAUSE YOU WANT TO CYCLE. You may do damage methinks.

It's not because I want to cycle..but because I have to cycle.

Its part of the rehab programme.

I am crapping myself, but a mate of mine(and Yang's)had his done in August 2010 and is doing the Barbeton this weekend I think and is on line for the Epic in March so I am confident.

Anyway the doc says I will be fine to do the Fish River Canyon Hike in August
