Ride / Shower / Breakfast - East Rand

Had a great ride with my mates at Teak Place on Sunday, followed by breakfast with the wives and kids. Problem is I live on the East Rand and my wife and kids b@tch about driving all that way.

 

Is there somewhere on the East Rand where one can go for a Sunday morning ride with one's mates, preferably have shower facilities and somewhere that produces good coffee and a good breakfast for mates, wives and family?

Hey Dave have you tried Rietvlei Farm in Alberton? I reckon it could tick most of your boxes. They had hot showers there for the 24 hour, but I'm not sure if those are permanent. Check out http://cyclehub.webs.com/aboutus.htm. for more info.

Was wondering about Rietvlei - but damn, The Glen/Camaro Crossing (from the map on their site)? That's not exactly East Rand, although it's less West than Teak Place!!

No enclosed park AFAIK. it takes us 20 minutes to get to Rietvlei from Edenvale.

groenkloof takes 25 mins from edenvale. has showers, dont know about breakfast though... but being PTA there must be somethign close.

There's nothing like this on the ER. Depending where on the ER, Groenkloof or Rietvlei are the closest.

 

Ride early, go home and shower and take family for breakfast

groenkloof takes 25 mins from edenvale. has showers, dont know about breakfast though... but being PTA there must be somethign close.

 

2 minutes by car and a bit more by bike from Groenkloof are a couple of cafe/restaurants just go to the fountains circle and head towards brooklyn.. on George storrar... Brooklyn design square is only a few minutes further too.
