andretraut Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 This morning there was two important tasks on my to-do-list... replace my battery of my Polar FT80, and to find a Garmin Edge 500 bike mount, as the two I got with the box no longer suffice as I own more bicycles than what I really need. Then I remembered that fellow hubber, Airbender posted something about his Polar being sent away for a battery replacement, and I think that this, together with finding a Garmin bike mount in Cape Town is going to become one heluva mission, but was I wrong. Phoned around for the Garmin mount after visitting CRC on line (about R80 + shipping cost + taxes+ wait 4 days) and soon find one at CycleLab Northgate for R88, complete with quarter-turn mount and Forerunner mount in the same box, not that I will use the Forerunner one. Then on to my Polar, I gave Chronos Watchmakers in Cape Town CBD a call. R120 later and my Polar has a new lithium battery, new seal and is pressure tested up to 3 bar. Slipped out of the office and within an hour I am completely sorted out....just love it when things goes so smooth!

Tankman Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Yea, I have to two that came with the unit already on bikes. I saw somewhere they are selling them in a pack of two? CRC maybe. I have absolutely no use for a forerunner mount.
