Shwalbe rockets and ralphs (non ust) are k@k when riding on the road with all the junk like nails and glass and pieces of sharp metal lying around. I had to plug tyres a few times when the sealant didn't want to do the job. Never had this problem on trails.

I'm just as fed-up with rocket rons! Punctures started last week Wednesday 3, Friday 2, Sunday 2 again. Looks like on the front wheel that the side wall and tread is going to separate. 150km on them. I'm the only p^%$#pol riding it! All the other guys ride on Maxxis or Contenental with No problems. On sunday I became the laughing matter of the bunch. We all ride the same terain. Does any one know of another tubeless system that Stans. My backwheel's valve stem seperated from the rimstrip.

Are it just me who notices that the chaps having problems with rocket rons also have problems with their key boards?

I've been riding non ust (tubeless compatible) rocket rons 2.1 on stans alpine rims wiff stans sealant since October and had my first flat on Sunday. This turned out to be a leak at the bead (the sealant was old and had long dried up into an astroid).

If you are getting frequent punctures then the problem is most likely lies somewhere else (with the person riding the bike?).

Does your bike know what off road is?not single track created by workers but cattle paths and rocky mountain paths, try using your bike to its full potential and take it off road that's why u bought it

Mtb means different things to different people - from dirt road to singletrack to DH etc.

Thus terrain differs and you should adapt tyre choice accordingly. I love my Maxxis Aspen tyres, great for Gauteng and I did the 3 Towers with them, but for example in the Attakwas they would die a quick death.

Rons are good tyres but maybe not the best choice for where some are riding

That is a good response I can understand that different riding offers different dangers for tyres but having a side wall leak just after inflating the tyre for the first time after not even riding it,I pumped the tyre and sitting in the lounge it started leaking in more than one place on the side wall, big problem

Yes I know what off road is, do you know what the Rocket Ron is recommended for?

Below is a quote from the Schwable website, seeing you use your bike to its full potential perhaps you should change to a heavier and more suitable tyre and not a weight weenie racing tyre.

As for the problem you had with it leaking while sitting in the lounge, maybe you should take it up with the dealer / Schwable representative, being a non ust tyre might be the reason. Does it still leak there?
