HvW - I'll be doing 99er on Sat. Will do a relaxed ride Sunday morning. Thusfar myself and Mads, maybe SirK and Rider3000 will still confirm.

6am from Northern Paarl Checkers. We meet inside the parking area, against the building on the northern side, there by the side entrance. (In that single-lane of parking...)

I'll be on a blue Cannondale and for help with identity I'll wear a BarloWorld shirt. Will try to be early, but like I said earlier, I am in the fortunate position to (after the 99er) be working during the night, so just hoping to be there in time! Will let Mads know if anything crops up that keeps me away - usually beats me to get down there anyways.

For me, it will definitely be an easy ride...

But to add to Rider3000's original sentiment, it will be great if we can get a group going - not just for Argus training, but keeping going through the winter as well. And/or rejoin forces with some familiar faces after the winter. There's such a load of us plodding around on our own. So truly a great idea for "mere mortals" to start a group. Thanks dude... Yes I know I sort-of mini-hijacked the thread to get a short-notice ride going for Sunday, but it's still his idea and hopefully the beginning of a good thing!

Glad I was penciled in - was so tired yesterday that I ended up sleeping late this morning - was good though but I was still irritated with myself for not joining in for the ride.

Any rides planned tomorrow? I am looking at leaving wellington high school at about 6:30 and doing the Wilde cycle race route. Ave about 30Km/h about - will se waht the legs dictate after the 99'er.

May very have seen you! At least you waved! ;) Met quite a number of other people ,esp coming back. Lo and behold, everybody waved back! Sorry, irrelevant to the thread, but so much for roadies not greeting! Well done Paarl/W'ton guys!

I had the added bonus of getting pinged by a bee in the neck (2nd one in a month - other one flew into helmet vent!) just as we were about to roll out. Fortunately Mads could help out and remove the stinger.

Rider, my internet was gone as well till Sunday morning. Presume it was a line fault in the area... I have a friend and will mail him during the day to pick up on the thread. He's local (and works locally) and could be able to join midweek rides as well. I hope to join in with you guys soon... (but it'll most likely be a weekend ride)

Hi all !!!

I am looking for people to join in our group rides in Paarl.

Good training for the Cape argus (average cyclist).

Anyone is welcome and we are doing about 50 - 80 Km's rides +-

3 times a week. So any riders are welcoem to join ...the more the better ! Men and girls are welcome, we ave between 27 - 30 Km/H. And

we normally start at 06:15 am and even later if possible.

Let me know if your interested.

Regards

Hi there,

Do you ride on Saturday mornings also? And from where do you start? We would like do ride with....

Shaun - and whoever else is interested - I will be going for another quick spin of the legs Sunday morning to get rid of the Wilde's remains.

Can't finish much later than 8, so was thinking of starting at 6 and doing 40 or 50 relaxed k's, nothing more! Again starting at Northern Paarl Checkers.

Route options: 40-50k's on CK road, just around the mountain (just shy of 40) or Voorpaardeberg (45 or 50, depending on turn-off).

Any takers?

Assume a lot will do Medallion, so I'm not expecting a great response. But can we please have the same agreement as last week? Please let me know if anybody is joining me - either in the thread or via PM or alternative means for those who know me, don't care.

If nobody else commits, I won't automatically be at the start point, since I don't ride road alone. (Those of you that may have seen me alone last Sunday, I just rode a little bit further at the turn-point.) So if you're vaguely considering maybe rocking up, pencil in your name and we can confirm later.

I will confirm here if I do get commitment from outside the thread - and from then on, I'll be there and anybody else who pitches are free to join.

Any one interested in doing a ride around Paarl mountain tomorrow morning? Can meet at the Checkers. Was looking earlyish - bout 5:30 or 6:00 - route will be via back paarl, Fairview, and then back the checkers.

PM me by 8:30 PM if you are keen - otherwise I am going solo from Wellington..... my lights are VERY bright!

Why don't you post a ride on www.paarlmtb.com?

Will check it out now

Edit: Dammit! See the guys are going out early AM tomorrow - already organised to ride with father in law and he can def not keep to the 32Km/H predicted ave speed.

Next time I guess
