Cannondale Synapse 5 2011 vs Specialized Roubaix Comp 2010

Hi all,

 

The main new guy question. Main reason for cycling will be tri's and IM70.3 type stuff with the odd Argus and Burger. I'm not a cyclist at all, but have done my fair bit of research on frames, bikes components, etc etc and "listening" to the advice from experienced hubbers online.

 

I have the option of buying one of two bikes. I live in LA at the moment, so I can get a good deal on these two bikes. There is no price difference between the two:

 

Specialized Roubaix Comp 2010 - 105

 

Cannondale Synapse 5 2011 - 105

 

I'm leaning towards the Roubaix as it is a slightly longer bike which makes handling easier. It is also more comfortable on longer rides.

 

ANy suggestions? Other bikes I should consider in this range?

nice bike that - note it is not full 105 as standard though - love the bike the lines so for me a no brainer

Specialized, for your type of riding the Roubaix's geometry would be great...

I have not ridden either, but as far as technology goes, I think the Roubaix frame has a lot of innovation in it.
