i am a roadie if i do mtb in the of season can i improve my ppa seeding,or is the seeding for mtb and road not the same

Yes, if you do mtb events that PPA recognises. Generally mtb races are more beneficial for your seeding, especially if you hammer them and get a decent time.

you'll have to be picky - many of the races don't fit the requirements for seeding (too short, too few competitors, route cut short for whichever reason like the argus mtb 2010).

so how do you know is it on the ppa website?

Berry, I agree with Lucky Luke, mtb events will up your seeding, provided that you do very well, eg. top 10 positions or so. However, the shorter races only has a weighting of 20% comapred to 34% for the long route road races. Still worth it !

i am in n but want to work the winter to beter it but top 10 in my dreams :lol:

In a way mountain bike races are simpler than road races. All you have to do is smash the pedals as hard as you can until you cross the line. No worrying about sticking with the bunch, overlapping wheels, sucking wheels or any of that stuff.

 

No drafting opportunities mean it's a truer reflection of your ability, provided that ability includes keeping the rubber side down of course. :P
