  1. Yes, thanks. Thule asking R450 per rubber insert per bar which I feel is a bit much for a piece of rubber.
  2. Hi, Looking for those rubber inserts for Thule Wingbars or suggestions for some alternative solution (silicon?). I bought the bars on the Hub and they never had those rubbers and I reckon that is where most of the noise comes from when driving above 80km Thanks, Cheers!
  3. Am I missing it in this article or what is the weight of the bike? Read ~18,5kg on another site
  4. 4.5 bar ???? Try maar 'n High Roller of enige iets met ten minste DoubleDown (DD) casing, dalk kan jy dan wegkom met ~2bar

    GPS

Hi Guys, Any reviews on this: MARVEL GPS COMPUTER XOSS G + https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/marvel-gps-computer-xoss-g Lekker cheap and tbh my past experience with so-called Marvel products have not been that great....
  6. So I reckon it will be wise to replace....there is a visible dent and my klokkie was behoorlik gelui so why risk it still using it... Does anyone know if Leatt offers crash replacement ? Discount when replacing after a crash possibly...
  7. So glad I stumbled onto this thread I bought one in the lockiedown from Bike Addict on sale - the one clasp broke when I tried it on at home - didn't even go for a ride, thus suspect it was the older version. It was replaced by them however no issues (thanks Wayne) I liked the helmet and only used the chinbar for "big" rides in Jonkers and as I cycle from my house I would strap the chinbar onto my Camelbak, put it on at the top and take it off at the bottom. Really enjoyed that option, was yet to try it in proper summer though but felt great winter/autumn. Sunglasses also tricky for me to wear when chinbar is on but whatever...you forget about it soon enough going down. I fell once with the chinbar on (not directly on the helmet though) coming down Iron Monkey (Jonkers) and the chinbar saved my face from a tree stump - pretty stoked as I could still kiss the missus that evening. I had another crash after that without the chinbar on where my front wheel got stuck sending me into a forward flip with the bike all balanced on my head. I broke my toe somehow and got a concussion and post-concussion syndrome for more than 4 weeks. Felt like a moerse babbelas that wouldn't go away. lol To be honest, I think if I was still wearing my 4yo Fox helmet it might have ended much worse. Up for debate I guess, but I feel the Leatt did OK given the fall. I reckon the helmet is finished now and will be replacing soonest, the chinbar is perfect still so I want to get another one so I can still use the old chinbar as well. Wayne says they will only be getting stock of this helmet in January, anyone know if you can use the chinbar on any other Leatt helmet - I remember reading that somewhere....I'll attach an image of the helmet post crash just to see
  8. Tried but made no difference to me unfortunately The "duckfoot" technique mentioned in that thread did make improvements I notice the numb feet more on trails like Red Phoenix and Armageddon On Plumber/Status there are too many other things for a noob like me to worry about than to notice feet going numb like just making it down without shattering something Would take a lot from me to go down there clipped in I reckon Still just want to try clips out to make a fair comparison someday...don't want to be missing out on something that could be potentially much more fun/improve my riding
  9. Both options will be cool to test Been cycling for about 4yrs now Started with Nike sneakers and DMR V8s and when I got a new bike switched to FiveTen Freerider and DMR V12s Loving the flats for all the many, many reasons However, seriously been considering clips lately as I get numb feet on long descents (Jonkers) Also a heavy investment for something which I might not like..sooo janee PS I was ranting about this on another thread couple of weeks ago
  10. Specialized 2FO Flat 2.0 Cons- Large obnoxious branding Classic Spaz L :DL
  11. Definitely blacked out Maxxis...DHF(29)/DHR(27.5) combo...? Edit: DT Swiss if that was actually your question
  12. That is true ! They barely move when making impact
  13. Aish, I didn't see that as an option. Only had to pick a store close to me if their would be any issues going forward. Was a bit of a rush buy...must've missed it
  14. Bought a pair just because...shipping is at a flate rate of also about R150, but show me any pads at R300 I had the Gforms for about 2yrs and they were absolutely great - hardly felt them even in the scorching Boland summers and had many a fall back then and they took a battering and always protected against any cuts and absorbed a decent amount of impact. Got a pair of Ion K-Traze Amp Zips and had to return the first pair as it was faulty. I keep them strapped on the top tube and put them on at the top of the trail and remove on the tar again riding back home. That is great and especially if you want to stop for a drink post ride and not take your shoes off to remove pads or if shins are super muddy after wet rides. They are actually comfortable for long rides as I have put them on under long pants during the winter riding from home, but not at all as comfy as the Gforms were. They were a bit pricey and I have to admit, great design, but I'm not sure they will last as long as the Gforms, they seem to take the most strain by just wearing, not even falling. Only had one tumble since I got them and they obv do provide more protection than the Gforms. Definitely worth a try. They are not the bulkier enduro specific ones and offer decent protection for the slimmer design. Brand Stable in Blouberg is a great place to get them.
  15. I can definitely recommend the 30mm internal width and Rapide in general Bought a complete wheelset almost exactly 2yrs ago Have been such a treat and much lighter than I imagined it to be Quite the upgrade from the stock Bontragers that came on my Fuel EX5 Little to no issues throughout until this week...took my bike to my LBS for something else and they noticed the rear rim was completely cracked through. So strange, I did not notice it as the tyre didn't lose any pressure. I have not inspected it myself (obv trusting my LBS) but it apparently cracked through at the "welding spot" Will have a proper look tomorrow. The rim had one (minor?) ding, but ran true and tbh at 95kg with gear and almost weekly hammering down Jonkershoek I suppose it was inevitable, what can I say....so I decided to go for the Stans FLOW EX3 (29mm ID) as replacement (was like R500 more than the Rapide). Nogals excited - hopefully get the bike tomorrow in time for some sunshine shenanigans this weekend.
  16. So I've never really taken too much notice of my foot placement riding down tbh... But from markings on my shoes and crank arms it suggests that I do tend to ride so-called duck footed...as I am more conscious about foot placement dragging my body up the mountain and know I then don't really brush the cranks it must be more going down. One thing I do suspect however is that I might not have the axle of the pedal properly/enough behind my foot... I might obviously also be wrong. Will upload a pic or two for your expert opinion. FYI I ride right foot front left back. Suck at uploading the pics correctly...meh
  17. Awesome, thanks - will definitely give it a go
  18. "Thanks for your request but I am sorry we are all out of demo shoes and stock at the moment. We have a shipment arriving in 2 months. There has been high demand and a global stock shortage." Will wait a bit and maybe just try placing my feet better in the meantime
  19. Lastly...this would've also been my next step: FIVE TEN IMPACT SAM HILL They are just a bit heavy over 500g
  20. Great thread so far guys - thanks for all the detailed input. As mentioned before I have 5Ten Freeriders (EU 47) paired with DMR V12s The shoes are about 2yrs old and have seen some regular riding...if I think about it the foot numbness on longer descents were less at the beginning...possibly as the shoes started flexing more it increased (might be in my mind) When I just started cycling 3 odd yrs ago I had V8s and regular Nike hi-top sneakers and the numbness was obv much more intense due to the extremely flexible soles. I have requested a demo of the RCs and will test with the V12s and also try the suggested duckfoot move. After my rides this weekend I was seriously considering going clipless as the foot numbness really impacts my rides...at least the fun parts (going down) Would love to remain a flat pedaller. Will keep you posted. Oja I got those footinserts from Clicks and used them yesterday and they do make some difference I'd say
  21. So I tested the laces this afternoon - not tight at all quite loose, made no difference to me on the long descents unfortunately. lamvoete Will hopefully get the insoles tomorrow (No Dischem in Stellenbosch) and test out later this week. Will report back
  22. Will also check the laces now - I do them super tight usually ... just because Will report back
  23. This is what I want to hear...which insoles did you get?
