  1. Ja loving my 5Ten Freeriders - would def get again. I do however get numb feet after long descents - I have never tried any other flat pedal specific shoes tbh so not sure if they could solve it but these shoes are QUALITY A bit off topic maybe (apologies - this might actually have been discussed before)...but..Coming down from the very top of Saaltjie (at the wooden deck) yesterday, all the way to the gate in one go my feet were quite numb and I was trying to sit down where I could along the way - not ideal. This might be due to a couple of reasons, technique and fitness probably the main culprits, but I was looking at insole options this AM and contemplating these: https://www.dischem.co.za/scholl-gel-active-insoles-sport-men Any thoughts? I thought this might be an easy option to alleviate some of the numbness and at the very least make the shoes lekkerder. If the don't work (you obv can't return these) I'll put them in my almost decade old sheepskin slippers Also a good article here: https://www.bikeradar.com/features/5-arch-supports-and-why-your-cycling-feet-need-them/ (I have DMR V12s FYI - also very lekker paired with the Freeriders)
  2. Ek word wakker in die oggend langs 'n Guiloises-blonde My eerste koppie koffie is moer ongesond Sewe lepels suiker vir my klem-in-die-kaak, 'n lyn cocaine en Benilin na smaak Suip Saag Wheelie
  3. What I have learned from him is that you can fit a pair of Fox40s on just about anything with 2 or more wheels. Such a lag and by far the most fun mtb youtuber. Love his vibe, not so much his Haibike tbh
  4. This guy might disagree with you:
  5. I'm as slow as they come Front: 2.6 Butcher 1.4bar Rear: 2.3 Butcher 2 bar (both grid version) 30mm internal width Rapides I do use a Ice Toolz floor pump though so it might be anything haha I find any lower in the back and the tyre just gives way Gspot type trails I'll go to to 2.2 rear I can now visibly see the rear tyre's casing giving in after a year (or maybe less) I am (after December) AROUND 92kg with kit etc And I know (I know) about the Butcher DeatGap trademark pending and as soon as the 89 daze of January have passed I will gooi the 2.6 to the back (just because and I have it now) and klap 'n Assegai Exo+ up front (local is lekker). I honestly do not find the Butcher that bad fir my type of riding style. Still quite new to all this and slowly but surely changing one thing after the other seeing what works for me and what not. My latest & greatest edition to my Fuel EX was a Pike Ultimate and wow...coming from the Recon.... There are so many settings and things to still figure out. Currently have one token in (received like that) and run 98 psi (RS recommended is 107) rebound -8 clicks (recommended -7) So far its epic obv Took it down Jonkers on the weekend and it just lapped everything up..hungry hungry hippo style I have yet to change the LS and HS compression (using as received for now) epic dude at the LBS tuned it for me as we have similar weight. So ja...will play around...so much to still figure out
  6. "My mass is around 86kg with riding kit." ==> To when are you referring here ? Matriek? Maybe a new digital scale will do Agree with what you say though - spot on
  7. Ahsee ahsee...my next move will be to move the Butcher to the back and Assegai front. Can't wait
  8. I'm no expert and only able to comment on what I see - but how is this tire so much different to the Butcher which I see even has its own trademarked Death Gap (lol). Putting pics of each next to each other..its seems both have that gap...please correct me if I'm wrong ...asking for a friend obviously
  9. Am I correct in saying then that one would have the option to change out and upgrade the damper at a later stage if so inclined with the likes of a 2.1 and then basically have no difference between the Select and e.g. Ultimate?
  10. Time is what I have. I'm just trying to think a little bit more long term ito what to get but I'm on a tight budget...so select I reckon
  11. Shot a lot dude Much appreciated Will do some more homework Not really sure what exactly the trail mode does....I'm coming from a Recon so bear with me haha
  12. Not all PIKES are created equal....or so I learn I BikeHub searched "Pike Select" ans this thread was all I got...not sure if a whole new thread was needed What are the main/material differences in the Pike range other than price and some knobs here and there Will a noob like me even notice? Is it worth the extra few K price tag Please advise as I can't seem to find specific reviews highlighting these differences. Current offering on Sram Site being (In what I could gather ascending order of price): Select Select + DJ (I see this only comes in 26") RCT 3 Ultimate Cheers
  13. Hectic..tikkoppe Glad you're OK Janee don't know what to do anymore..I often cycle past there Always on high alert when cycling anywhere really outside Jonkershoek in Stellenbosch It's not normal to feel like this I sometimes think I'm just paranoid as I see a lot of people walking/jogging by themselves, quite a lot of them elderly/female and then I read something like this again and I'm like...
  14. Been following this thread like 7de Laan in die ouetehuis Suuuper amped to partake next year Big up to RiverInTheRoad for finishing like a champ...jy gee hoop vir die res van ons Suip, Saag & Wheelie pappie
  15. Fair enough - it is the same with estate agents..advertising sold houses never quite get it Suppose it serves some purpose...showing people fair prices and stuff actually moving etc- I dunno... I marked my previous item sold as the guy who bought it phoned me and never rated the sale on the hub. We only dealt over the phone. I prefer dealing through the Hub tbh Also got the "is it really sold" reply afterwards - classic
