  1. Please go and lay a charge against this guy ASAP! He admits to being in possession of stolen goods, that's all you need. I bet he has previous convictions and a magistrate will laugh at his excuses.
  2. Thats crazy, I swapped that intense frame I sold you for my trusty Kona Kula, I miss my Kula every day! In my humble opinion the Kona Kula is hands down the best hardtail ever built.
  3. Sorry hows a serial number any better than "under that bartape is some black bartape", bottom line is the dude's riding a stolen bike, and the thread starter can prove it. Insofar as him sueing, he cant exactly sue a guy for posting a picture of his own bike up on a forum, it just so happens he wasn't riding it at the time. Some of you okes are such mullets, and none of you are lawyers so you should probably leave the law to those in the know and try and help this guy find his bike. My advice would be to phone the cycle trust or racetec and demonstrate that its your bike, im sure they can then phone the cyclist and inform him its stolen, chances are he thought bought it legit and the two of you can head off to cash crusaders with the cops.
  4. This looks a little "Broke Back Ficksburg" Jokes aside, its really well done.
  5. Yeah the fork was nice, pity about the frame (he says jokingly, wishing he had one too)
  6. I ride both, the talas is much nicer. The 120mm float seems to get a bit iffy and all hard like up top of its travel, the 150mm talas doesn't. I've ridden a nomad c with a 160mm talas 36 with kashima and nearly cried its no nice.
  7. Hey I've been riding the mountain for years on my own, and commuted via the block house for 3. About 4 years back there was a spate of attacks which really worried me. There were a bunch of guys living in the cave and around deer park that would rip some stuff on their way to town. About a year ago i noticed lots of folk were again starting to sleep on the mountain, a hotspot is just below the restaurant at rhodes. Suddenly theres another spate of muggings. I reccon its the guys on the hill, remove them and the problem will go away. I'm all for a group ride, just let me know where and when.
  8. Another point to note is that on most 3x9 setups with a wide bb (loads of full sussers) the smallest front chainring gives you a better chainline. It's a physics thing, if your chain is pulling your cassette at a high angle you're wasting energy. It's there for a reason. I ride a 2x9, 24/36 up front with a bash guard and 11-32 on the back, every now an then for a race like sani (where i come last) ill take off the bashguard for a bigring, takes about 2 mins to do. So the moral is if its 3x9 and you think granny is too small just get a bigger granny.
  9. I have a set which is why I started the thread, they're great so far. For the price they're unreal! From what I gather these lights are imported and resold by all sorts of folk at varying prices, which is going to make any warranty issues very interesting. I just hope the battery stops working rather than explodes!
  10. So the US importer of Macicshine is doing to total product recall on batteries, quoting safetly issues. http://www.bikerumor.com/2010/11/15/magicshine-batteries-stop-using/ I guess its time for all you (grey or whatever) importers out there to stand up for your product and do the recall too, ne?
  11. I've had one for nearly 6 years, its a DMR and i have a 18/14 setup. In all those years i've never flipped it, mostly because my bike uses a horizontal dropout and it means resetting the v-brake every flip. If i have a chain tensioner im sure i'da flipped it a couple of times.
  12. "Ditto that, he says checking his logs...."
  13. Hi there Does anyone know if its possible to run the new sram XX X0 10 speed casette/chain with a conventional 9 speed front crank? Basically I want to run a Raceface Sixc 24/36 crank on 9 speed now and upgrade to a 10 speed X0 cassette on the back when it comes out.

    Kona

If any of you guys out there are interested I just got a mail from Kona confirming you can buy online in SA from them now. http://shop.konaworld.com/sa/ Some of those prices are CRAZY cheap, I have my eye on their singlespeed 29er for about R7000! I have no affiliation with Kona other than i've been riding kona hardtails for 12 years.
