  1. I apologise. I get ahead of myself. Picture verification was with respect to Preemie. I can't wait to see updated pics.. When my daughter came home, she was locked in her room for 6 months. Infections were a 100% no-no. Family could only see her through the window.
  2. Something I heard.... the last growth in a male child is the lungs.(not a doctor and not trying to be a know-it all) just a happy Dad.
  3. I cannot answer without picture verification. And please do not make your problems my problems.......(as family.....there is an understanding........)
  4. Just to inform how close to home this is..... My daughter(my only child) was born prem. After 10 years of trying to conceive. She was born...1.2kg's.. held her in one hand. What followed was a long road. On Friday, she turns 16. On Saturday, she is doing pre-grading for her 'Black-Belt'!!!!!!! Prems start fighting from when they are born and they don't stop.
  5. Well 2Bliss, you started something!! You just haven't realized it. Let me spell it out for you.(slowly) 'Preemie' IS a HUBBER!!!!!!! (quite possibly, the youngest Hubber ever). She is 'one of us', 'one of our own', she is..... where she belongs! You did it! You introduced her to us!! Now we love her!!! She is one of us!!!!!!!!!! Her forum name is 'Preemie', (or Bunny)(No, not Bunny), her profile pic is her in her 'spacecraft', wearing her oversize helmet. (stunning).(somebody buy the right size helmet) You did this! Now we request... Nay, you will supply....Nay, we demand updates, with pics of 'one of our own'. You, 2Bliss, are no longer in charge, the Hub is!!!
  6. Really battled with sore hands as well. Played with setup to remove pressure from my hands. Seat back, forward, up, down, brakes parallel with arms. Eventually improved. But I still have to constantly change my grip according to terrain. And every now and then lift a hand and shake to improve blood flow. Hope you come right.
  7. I think UPS delivers to the door. I ordered goodies from Italy and they were stuck for 2 1/2 weeks.Kept phoning, no joy. Asked for number for manager or director and got a number for a lady in the Brokerage Dept. Phoned her Friday 9.00 am and goods were delivered at 1.00pm. you need to speak to someone with the will and power to unstick. I will PM you her name, number and email address. OH....and BEG!
  8. Congrats Bud. Wanted to advise on the Expert. It's what I landed up buying. It's an awesome bike.(and according to the Hub red is faster) Wish you many safe miles of joy.
  9. Hi Preasan, yes the Trail is the better option with air shock and hydraulic brakes. Check out Hassims in Pretoria they offer great Titan prices. They advertise on olx. Their number is 061 999 7236. (taken off olx). Also use www.bike-addict.co.za as a guide for good prices. I haven't bought from any of these guys but did notice them while I was looking for a bike. Good luck and enjoy whatever you buy.
  10. Thanks for this Danie. Not a full hijack as it is import related. Bought my daughter new 'figure skates' online from Italy. Shipping thru UPS. We have zero control or options. The skates have been warehouse bound since the 4th April. No-one has contacted us. I have been phoning everyday. Sometimes 3 times. Nothing. Pay a courier before and you always have a contact.
  11. If the condition of the goods collected, has changed, when delivered, the courier is at fault. They have signed for and accepted responsibility.(minus the small print) But, BUT, the proof is in the pudding. Whether it is financially viable to fight it, is another story. Strength! You going to need it.
  12. It's easy to confuse the properties and characteristics of steel versus stainless steel. Stainless steel in general, is softer than steel. The load carrying capacity of the stainless will be somewhere between 15% to 25% less due to it being softer. (with regards bearings) Different steels have different characteristics that are utilized in different applications. The most important consideration is that where you have moving parts, there is always a 'wear part'. In the BB that would be the bearing balls. It's cheaper to replace than the axle and/or the bearing cups. Hope this helps. Edit:- changed my wording to make sense. And again.
