  1. Hey guys, just posting on behalf of a mate who got robbed this weekend in the Bell Air area. He pretty much got cleaned out of all his Audio and Visual equipment as well as his bike. Its an oldish bike so hes not to clued up regarding the spec but the best we can do is say its a Medium Mongoose Otero Dual Suspension (Black). Please can anyone riding or driving in the area keep a look out to see if the bike pops up some where. if we can catch the guys who took the bike it could lead to the recovery of his house equipment. Any info please let me know or contact Greg on 082 363 5335
  2. Jees never knew about them till i got the bike but it seems like they are a decent set of rims, Im running them with Maxxis Ardent 29x2.25 @1.9 bar. Thanks guys, im happy
  3. Good to hear, thanks guys!! I must say they are sweet rims!
  4. Ive recently purchased a bike from a fellow hubber and it came with Velocity Blunt SL rims and so far all the research Ive done hasnt really told me how good they are and what they can handle. Ive taken them out for a couple test rides from the Spruit to Kings Kloof so they have handled pretty well so far but... Any one else got 5c to add?

  8. Trust me there is nothing wrong with riding a Titan at a big race. I know for a fact that this weekend there was a Titan Team in the top 5 as well as myself finishing top 30. A bad sportsman blames his tools,

  10. HI fellow hubbers If there is any one who has or knows any one who has accommodation for 4 adults for the night of the 15th May please can you get hold of me. We are 4 guys riding the Trail, so we are coming into Scottbrugh on the 15th and want to sleep a night before heading back to Jozi on Friday morning. We are really just looking for a place to shower, braai, have a few beers and go to sleep. Please email or call/sms me if anyone has anything available. Thanks Darren drkrul@gmail.com 0823211261
  11. I know they had a seeding problem last year and they had guys in the batches checking if you were in your correct batch, if not they were moving you out. Rumour has it that they will be sending out another email tomorrow with new batch seedings so lets just wait and see.
  12. Hope someone can help but how will I know if my Shimano BR-M666 Brakes are XT SL-M780i I-Spec compatible?
  13. I've just been explaining to my Agricultural Manager of gardens about the predicament I am in when riding my bike and he has found a reasonable solution to our problem. Please see image attached
  14. My piece of trail in question is marked in RED, the yellow breakers mark the PUBLIC road I use running next to Avianto. You can quite clearly see the Avianto trails running both sides of my trail. Richard where do I stand?
  15. I have a problem with the fact that I ride through the Avianto area towards the Waterworks and out onto Beyers. I am now afraid that I will be arrested as I know for a fact that I use about a 200m stretch of your trails that are clearly marked to get to my destination and enjoy the riding of unmarked trails. Please inform me of how I would go about avoiding a criminal record?

  17. Hi guys I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get my crank and pedal holes *re-threaded. I got a really old bike from my uncle and want to turn it into an SS using as many of the original parts as possible. Problem is he loaned it to my younger cousin who decided to strip it and try reassemble it not knowing what he was doing. I have attached the pictures of the crank as well as one of the pedal holes. If you know someone or can do it please let me know. Thanks D
  18. Have you managed to make a pass down the Crevasse? We went through there this weekend and its got some nice flowing technical sections, looks like the rain has been cleaning up the loose debris. I have made note of where we would need to do some trimming and where we can improve the trail so hopefully this december we can get our hands dirty.
  19. Ya, just remember to pack a space blanket some extra food for at least 2 days and something to take your mind off the pain. Hahaha Ya you should be fine just ride safe
  20. Its in Krugersdorp, Just behind the Silverstar Casino. Check the Strava Segment I attached above.
  21. Silverback, Ive had one! Their After service is great and the components are always that little bit better. SLX Brakes are bullet proof and Shimano Shifters just work better.
  22. Hi Fellow Hubbers If any of you out there have done any riding on the Krugersdorp Hill of recently and have taken the chance to wind and navigate your way down "The Crevasse" http://app.strava.com/activities/97126567#2068253227 you will know what I'm talking about when I say this piece of trail "BLOWS YOUR MIND". "Hang on and keep your eyes fixed on whats coming up next" - kind of trail. I want to know if there are restrictions or if anyone knows what the limits are to trail building in those hills, this specific piece of trail can do with some work to make it slightly more ride-able instead of the stop start walk that it is. I really think that we can make this something spectacular for both the normal MTB riders as well as getting the DH guys (serious potential) involved. If anyone is keen to help work on the trail or knows who is building the trail on top of the hill, lets get chatting.
  23. Deal is still on, buddy of mine picked up 2 helmets on Friday. Agree, Deal of the year!!
  24. Have you had a look at the Cratoni helmets at the Ghost shop in Laser park JHB. I tried one on and felt it was a better fit than the Sterling but I guess everyone has a different pip. Good solid helmets in my opinion.
