  1. It really was an incredible story, and the timing was miraculous as I was literally down to my last cents, having to win my last few races just to make ends meet. So am grateful that they looked after me through Rona. Could probably make for a pretty interesting book, haha. But yes, Giant has come along in leaps and bounds, the new Anthem is pretty incredible to ride and really up there with the popular brands at a much lower price point.
  2. Thanks Renay for clearing that one up. And don\'t stress Shebee, I used to get emails asking about my \"latest triathlone win\" all the time, haha. But yes, different Stuart Marais.
  3. I will always be grateful for what {type}DEV have done not only for me but all the other riders I have been privileged to call team mates. It has been a a fantastic journey, and even though my professional riding career has come to an end, i am stoked to see that their support lives on in Imbuko{type}DEV.
  4. speak to @biketcoza he can probably help you out.
  5. Hi Guys, i had a similar experience the other day. The problem is that they contact you via Wattsapp or phone you. So they don't necessarily have an account to block.
  6. Anyone know what time on Supersport and what channel. Cant seem to find it, and would be a bit annoyed if they show a delayed version when they geo block it
  7. Hey guys, Team {type}DEV Nanotime are running a competition on their social media pages, if you are interested go check it out. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CRqt7tEF7Ux/
  8. I found some sunglasses leaving Van Galaans yesterday. If they yours and you can tell me details will help to reunite you.
  9. put the alan key in, stand on the pedal and pull up. Easiest way to remove pedals. Works both sides
  10. I tried the whole back a buddy thing as well, unfortunately used that card so cant really use it again and wasnt quiet as successful as I was hoping it would be
  11. Been a constant struggle for as long as I've been racing. Thanks Stephen
  12. Hello people of the hub So for those of you who don't know me contrary to my Hub name, my real name is Stuart Marais. I am one of the few pro riders left in South Africa and am basically at the end of my rope. I've had a fairly decent season having won over a third of the races I've done this year and podiuming at around 2/3rds of them in total with one of my better results being a 2nd overall finish at Sani this year with Matt Beers. So I don't totally suck at riding a bicycle. My reason for this post is, I need your help. My financial sponsors, the few that I could find, have not been able to carry on with me due to the economic climate we find ourselves in. It hasn't made life easy at all and I have literally, I am not over exaggerating on this, had to win every race I entered in the last 3 motnhs in order to just pay rent. I have approached all the teams in SA ( there are not that many) but they are either remaining the same or downgrading and I've cleaned out every savings account I had after been retrenched from my Engineering job 4 years ago and I am basically done, unless..... This is where I need your help, if there is anyone out there who could assist me or who would be keen to come on board and create a partnership going forward I would greatly appreciate it and would love to discuss the opportunity going forward, so please drop me a DM and i will gladly get in touch with you. Thanks for your time everyone and sorry for the begging for sponsors post but I hope you all will understand why.
  13. It honestly doesn't matter the size of the car and besides in this case there is no way you can fit two cars( overtaking said cyclist and oncoming vehicle) and a cyclist with out everyone having enough space and someone having to swerve off the road. Still puts everyone at risk. If it was a tractor we wouldn't be having this conversation even though it would be traveling slower. It all boils down to a lack of patience and complete disregard for human life
  14. So I'm going to be the unpopular opinion in this situation, so take it with a pinch of salt . I don't live in Cape Town so don't know the road, but being a pro I spend an exorbitant amount of time on the road so experience a lot more than the average rider. So going on the photo, yes riders are riding 3 abreast ( looks like two are overtaking so technically 2 abreast as mentioned previously) however, looking at the photo. Does it matter........ this is a solid line? on a blind corner? with no yellow line? So really should you in any right mind be looking at trying to overtake any rider, let alone a group of them, without putting both yourself, fellow motorists and the cyclists at hand in danger. Like i say I dont know the road but i literally had this exact argument with a motorist the other day who nearly took out on a blind corner. Unfortunately we are so busy jumping up and down about the cyclist not riding on the side of the road ( the most dangerous place to ride as it gives motorists space to not think about taking the gap or not and thus passing us closer than is safe, argument for another day) than actually following the primary rule of overtaking, only do so when its safe to. 10 seconds of your life is not worth someone else life.
