  1. Absolute rubbish this. I did the 2021 (Rayton/MX Legends) event and must say after that, won't support these events again. This just confirms my suspicion. Sorry for the guys who lost out. Sucks for the sport and unfortunately it leaves us with very few regional events.
  2. In this case I hope the non-drinkers ate the Lamb dish, otherwise someone scored big. Each person knows what they ate and contribute accordingly, then simply a quick check to see that bill was settled at the end. Usually this gives a decent tip too. But then again we once had a “friend” swipe his card at the end and pocketing the substantial tip in exchange. I believe the moral of the story is pick your riding buddies.
  3. With regards to sizing, I firmly believe that it is bike and geometry dependent. Measure your inseam and your overall length. This could give a much better impression of your build. I am 1.81m @ 113kg, but with a relatively short inseam and a 76cm seat height. So between all my bikes (7 of which 2xM and 5xL frames), the M fits me much more comfortably than the L's do. Convention says I should ride the L frame but this makes me feel "stretched" and added to the fact that the bigger blokes tend to be "less stretchy", the medium just fits. We could get into the stem, seat, handle bar discussions too. Best thing I would suggest is call on a multibrand store, sit on the bikes and get a feel for them. If possible even pop on a stationery trainer because the different brands also "feel" different at the same size. Then you have at least an idea on brand and size differences. I also started with a hardtail mountain bike, with a sturdy built wheelset and never looked back......my wife and bank account may disagree. Three years later, probably 10 bikes, upgrades and trainers etc, if this bug bites properly, you will be upgrading that first bike pretty soon, so don't stress too much.
  4. These bikes are known for their weak pivot bolts/bushings. Perhaps you can pass on your custom solution details. Reckon that guy could do good business considering you have to buy a complete set IF you can find any. I ended up using 1 bush out of the whole set, rest locked in the safe!
  5. Sorry guys....reply and GPX received from Holla! Hitting it tomorrow.
  6. Good morning, Is anyone on here familiar with this trail and perhaps have a copy of the correct GPX file? I noticed that the route listed on the website looks VERY similar to the Gold MTB loop. Only taking a Gravel bike down, so not to keen on hitting too much single track on an unmarked route. 😛 Route OK to take on solo? Cheers!
  7. Thanks for the reply. Bike is a 2018 RC. Suppose I will have to bite the bullet and replace one broken pivot bolt.....with a few spare ones included. Eish.
  8. Sorry for resurrecting an old thread...but this just happened to me. Quoted R1,900 for the pivot kit. Reasonable or not?
  9. Hi all, any way of joining up with riders around PMB/Hilton area for a MTB group ride after work or before? I am only down in the area on Tuesdays and Wednesdays every week and would like to find a local group to ride with. Or, best to join a club in the area?
