  1. Rode on Friday , the trails are looking great. Mud is all dried up. Loads of black jacks though. The final singe track is awesome. But seems the sparrow hawks are back along the river, got buzzed twice.
  2. Rode there on Sunday. Was a bit of mud but nothing unrideable. Bike and clothes needed a proper wash though. Didnt do the last single track so not sure what that's like. But managed the river section and ruins without a hassle.
  3. Rode this morning and was happy to see a couple of new routes and features in the first 5 km. I'd say 99% of the mud is all dried up too, so was very pleasant.
  4. I rode there last Friday morning (3 June) Only got there at 08:30 and was told they lock the gate at 10h30 so was touch and go to do the 30km route. Fortunately a guy named Christo , who was at the clubhouse, was there to assist with the gate on prior arrangement. But just make sure of this if you go during the week and don't want to be locked in. Beginning was grassy and muddy, thereafter was good single track as well as graded jeep track. Didn't enjoy the sewerage spill at the pig farm 😞 No way of going around it. Signage could be a bit more obvious and bigger. You have to watch out for the red arrows quite diligently otherwise you'll miss them. Were a couple of cars on the road in some places which isn't ideal but wasn't a problem. The view from the hill next the Kyalami Castle was amazing as was the flow line down from there. 1st part of the flow line takes you by surprise being rocky, narrow and quite technical but it soon opens up and leaves a massive smile on your face. It has a lot of potential but needs to be ridden more. A nice alternative to Modderfontein for me.
  5. @Ryan Bevanas per the specs @dasilvarsadropped above, it does seem that the fork only has 2 modes, open and lockout. It's the shock that has 3 modes. What that means is if the twinlock lever (which should have 3 modes) is in open or traction , then the fork would be fully open . So if the shock is in open or traction, the fork is open and only if twinlock is fully closed, would the fork be closed along with the shock. If it's doing that then it's working correctly.
  6. This does sound like the spring isnt being clocked correctly. Who is the service provider ?
  7. @Ryan Bevanthis was the fox fork process I was talking about https://www.ridefox.com/fox17/help.php?m=bike&id=779
  8. Hi. I had this with my Scott Spark 920 with a Fox 34 Performance after a service. It had the 3 setting selection, open, trail and closed. On closed my fork never locked out any more. I battled for along time and then was told the fork doesnt completely lock out but I wasnt convinced. Sadly I never came up with a solution, I did read about clocking the fork but the process is different compared to the rockshox
  9. Rode this morning. Did the yellow route, supposed to be 30km, but I was short , only did 26.5km. Maybe I took a wrong turn somewhere 🙂 The trails were the best I've seen them in a while. Very little mud around although that will change after tomorrow's weather sadly. Just beware, seems that hawk is back on the river section. It buzzed me 3 times, twice on the way out and once on the way back. Awesome to see but scary when you're not expecting it, flew low over my head from behind each time.
  10. Hi All A friend is looking to have 3 kids bikes serviced. They are admittedly cheapies but needs some brake maintenance for the one and general service for the others. Does anyone know of a LBS in the Joburg area that specializes in kids bikes ? Or should he just take them to the closest LBS ?
  11. Hi all Does anyone know why there have are/have been so many Yeti SB130 frames on sale on the hub ? Or is it just coincidence ?
  12. @Thomo When a bricks and mortar store links their in store ERP to eComm , not necessarily having a separate warehouse for online stock (because it costs a lot to store that stock and not have it for sale physically), they usually set buffers to not list product low on stock that could potentially be sold out in store. This minimises the possibility of not being able to fulfill an online order in the case where it may sell out. That could be the reason why some in store product is not listed online. This is my experience in the industry and may explain why.
  13. With the number of products listed on an online store and the human element of data capture, this is very likely a mistake rather than unethical practice. An intern tasked with linking product with images most likely didnt know the difference between products or there could have been a cache issue on the CDN. Either way , get a grip not everyone is out to get you.
  14. Do the AXS upgrade, you wont look back and can always move it to a new frame if you ever want to upgrade the bike at a later stage. I have had AXS since end of 2019 and havent had a day's issue (touch wood). Always smooth no skipping. It's expensive , yes, but if you have the cash , I think it's a great upgrade.
  15. Hi @JulienR I had a similar issue on a Fox 34. Is the lockout not working in that it's not locking out the fork or is it when you unlock it doesnt return to unlock mode. If the prior , then could be the damper. The O rings could be pinched and allowing the oil through even in lockout. If the latter then sounds like the lockout wasnt clocked properly. ie the spring isnt tensioned enough to open. Check
  16. I used my Scott Twinloc all the time, mostly riding in the traction mode. But this may have been due to the marketing side of things where they said it improves efficiency so that aspect was always on my mind. My new bike has no remote lockout and to be honest I dont really miss it. The bars are less cluttered and I actually use my dropper more because the remote lockout isnt in the way. I now occasionally put the rear shock on pedal mode if I remember but mostly ride it on unlock mode but that is mainly due to the mission of reaching down to switch it. I have on occasion forgot that it's in pedal mode and hit a down hill and by then it's too late to be fiddling. That's where the remote lockout lever on the Scott was great. The new bike's fork doesnt have a lockout option either so now it's just focus on riding.
  17. Hi, have you tried Bike-Addict ? https://bike-addict.co.za/collections/shoes/products/ride-concept-hellion-womens-shoes
  18. This is my recent acquisition. Am loving it. Doesnt make me a better or faster rider but it sure is fun !
  19. @Rogerdias , I upgraded my standard Scott 920 rims and hubs to Hope Pro 4 hubs on Stans Flow rims. I was not disappointed. Put Maxxis Ikons front and rear and the rolling resistance is much lower than before. The rims have an inner width of 29mm so adds loads of grip too. 20. I quite like the new classified section and the new sort options eg price high to low. Nice work

  24. Hi All Do yourselves a favour, if you enetered JUMA this year, and Google your cell number and check the 2nd link that comes up. All our personal information has been made available to the public. I have contacted Entryninja who have notified BAM Events. I have emailed and tried calling BAM events and have had no response. I called Afrihost who hosts the Wordpress website but they cant do anything. Anyone here have any info on what can be done on this POPI violation ?
