according to my friend that attended the breakfast it looks like he will play domestique for daryl(as daryl can sprint) and try and break the race up a bit. so if only 10 riders get to sprint it could be between impey and burry in a dash. ..but the langkawi SA national team is back, so venter, van heerden, rabie could also be in the mix..and well rested

CSA sal 5000 pamflette by ekspo uitdeel om mense te vra om swart armbande te dra. ek het ook hierdie campaign begin. n halfblad advertensie is gesamentlik uitgeneem deur CSA, PPA met n verklaring in Argus, dit sal voor wedren sondag verskyn. die Giro bunch sal sondag n statement maak op televisie, dalk stop n kilo van begin van wedren en op TV praat n paar CSA volunteers sal sondag van 5h met swart tape rondloop en versprei aan ryers wat nie armbande het nie een van ons mense was verlede week vir 1e keer by n national road safety summit en baie goed vloei daaruit. as jy aan nog idees dink laat weet my en ons kan dit ook probeer

Hi, I just had a chat with Nick, he was not tested in the last few months. CSA also has not been informed of this. To pull his daughter into this is not very good taste. His son is a promising young rider and also dont deserve this. I suspect this thread was started by a family member of a pro that was managed by Nick a few years ago, sour grapes. The same person also badmouths CSA, but are possibly part of our management on overseas trips. If you dont have proof rather stop. It causes big damage.

the biggest drawback of being on the board is that i must be diplomatic, sort of. so i cannot be my normal rude self, but thats good says my wife. i had an on site meeting with PPA at the finish of coming sunday's race, the medallion in stellenbosch. Explained why we cannot have cones turning in from Annandale into R44 on last kilo, moved the finish a bit further along, good uphill finish like last year, cones will be on uphill on OTHER side of white line. Medium route start time is only at 08h40 to give long route racing bunches time to finish without meeting other distances on way to finish. So we're addressing problems, and PPA (esp Wendy)more than willing to learn, improve, putting riders first. And it was in my worktime, still hope you okes all get involved, will be great for the sport if all the hubexperts come help one weekend a year. I see Hendrik Wagenar, Gotty Hansen nominated for top CSA posts by your provinces. Really moving forward here.

Its a pity that this turned into a campaign on a public forum and at the end of the day it will cause damage for all parties. The commissaires report, witnesses in convoy were contacted and no one saw Kurt being hit by a car. They do say that it is possible, but they did not see it. So take the legal route and report back when you have an outcome. We're heading towards someting nasty thats not to anyone's benifit.

Just returned home from a productive(lets see) meeting with PPA about safety esp for the racing bunches. I had 3 major concerns: a) Clear finish lines of obstacles..cones, timing boxes, slow riders b) short, med routes do not mix with racing bunches c)keep riders safe from oncoming traffic Will post in more detail later, but going for a relaxing mountainbike ride now. We made progress and PPA is very willing to work together for the rider. I started by explaining just because I drive a car at 120k/h, does not mean I can be employed to design a racing course for Schumi, as I have no idea how fast, what happens to him, and how to keep him safe. A commissaire or myself may override a PPA staff member and move or remove certain things we think is unsafe. The Boland committee will get involved with assisting to get racing safer in Boland areas, and WP will do the same in Cape areas. Let me go hit the singletrack. Oh, and I did spot some cool new routes for circuit racing..

My next step is to take this up with CSA Welcome, hendrik@cyclingsa.com
