  7. that is a question for Shimano - I am not an expert on their compatibility and range in total - suggest you checking with your local bike shop - they can ask Coolheat ( the importers of Shimano in SA ) those kinda of questions if they don't have the info or know. there usually is some "cross-polination" allowed but again - best to check with them directly.
  8. hi, this bike was designed as a gravel / tourer / bike packing model. See attached the frame drawing showing spec parameters. it is for FD top-pull and then a choice of either a 1x or a 2x setup. 1x is 50T max. the 2x setup suggested is Shimano 46/36T which is in line with gravel trends at the time. This is a rather old model - designed in 2017 now. Since 2017 Shimano has added a Gravel Specific range of parts - the GRX ,below from their Media Pack about FD options : GRX Front derailleurs (FD): Complementing the cranksets, the Di2 or Mechanical front derailleurs are built with 2.5mm more outbound clearance for wider tires (up to 42mm) to cope with riding on rough roads. This means GRX front derailleurs must be combined with Shimano GRX +2.5mm cranksets. Both RX800-series mechanical and Di2 front derailleurs are built to accommodate Shimano’s widest 17T front chainring 48-31T gear ratio whilst the FD-RX400 10-speed derailleur accommodates the 16T chainrings found on the RX600 46-30T 10-speed cranksets. Shimano Di2 FD’s can be perfectly adjusted using Shimano’s simple and integrated controls whilst mechanical FD’s bring an extremely light front shifting feeling with an ergonomic power curve, toggle link construction for more cable routing options and an integrated cable tension bolt for precise and easy adjustments. Probably you should be looking at GRX-810 or 815 FD for this build - will allow you to run the 48-31T option they recommend.
  9. " The fact of the matter is that the majority of South African mountain bikers are actually off-road cyclists. Most of can do 100km without a worry, but can't ride a 1m drop off. Many may prefer a more efficient gravel bike to an MTB. "

  12. not yet, they said they need to check as stock was shipped in September 2018 - which they say is a long time ago for them ..
  13. not sure, never had an issue like this before - we sold tyres to dealers, and direct from our website - so we are busy trying to understand who bought from where and how etc. we received a large batch in November 2018 ... and still have stock on hand. So now we are checking with Vee Rubber on how to handle any current or future cases. there are customers who have not had issues - me included.
  14. please confirm your Order # and we can get your contact details. thanks.
  15. please confirm your Order # - that way we can get your contact details and will re-imburse you for the 2 purchased. don't want unhappy customers.
  16. 4 bars sounds extremely high - but regardless - we don't want to see these issues. Farr will reimburse you for both tyres - don't expect you to ride the front tyre if you are uncomfortable to do so. Have just re-sent the mail to Vee Rubber for them to urgently reply on Monday. will chase them up on Monday morning too - they don't work weekends.
  17. tks Wayne - mine are around 18 months old ( granted I don't do high mileage ) and have not had any bulges or issues. I am however running the pressure lower than most would on the road.
  18. sorry about this. not good and definately not something we like seeing! have been moving house the last few days so have not been behind the computer much. these are 72tpi ( an average thread count ) which should be plenty durable. The issue in the above photos is a concern and we have reached out to Vee Rubber ( our manufacturer in Thailand ) to urgently comment further about this. we have sold +100 of these, seen 3 like this. So whilst not a high ratio , it is still a concern for us. We will refund you for these of course, and anyone else who experiences similar issues. hope to have a response during Monday morning ( they are 6 hours ahead of SA ) .
  19. Sorry - have been moving house and not behind the computer much the past 2 days. Firstly, apologies for this quality issue - that tyre is not up to standard and we need to take it up with our manufacturer - Vee Rubber in Thailand. I have escalated this with them and am awaiting response - we still have alot of these tyres in stock. Having seen this issue I checked our sales and out of just over 100 units being sold we have had 3 issues like this. Let me get back to you on Monday once they have had a chance to respond to my e-mail. We will of course refund you for these and sort out anyone who has similar issues. Working with multiple vendors and suppliers means we sometimes have to wait for them to clarify issues like this. Personally I have had a set for over 18 months and have not had similar issue/s. Wishing you a great weekend - will report back on Monday once the factory has responded.
