  1. Where was this taken?
  2. Rode from Scottburgh to Rocky Bay today and did the 29km trail at Rocky Bay Trails. 42km total ride with 571m elevation. Go check it out if you on the South Coast.
  3. Went for a ride in Kranskop (KZN) yesterday.
  4. Would anyone be able to advise if it would be safe to ride from Scottburgh to Vernon Crookes Game Reserve on a MTB. I've use Komoot to plot a route.
  5. Hi... it's been a few years since the last post. Wife has booked a week in December in the Scottburgh area. Wanted to find out if there any good trails closeby. @Matuka you should know all the good spots there by now if you're still living there...
  6. Ok, and if its coffee you're after, theres'a guy that sells coffee at the BG entrance on Beyers, or there's the Fingers Crossed coffee shop at the shops by 5th and Thomas Bowler.
  7. Hi, I live very close to the Botanical Gardens, there is a 7km trail inside the BG itself, all the entrances also have security so I would recommend riding there during the week or during times when the Spruit is quiet. I ride to work during week as well, Roosevelt to Rosebank, it's pretty safe although I do ride during peak traffic hours in the morning and usually ride back at around 2ish. The Spruit itself, I wouldn't recommend riding during the week, although I have seen people riding, on the weekends though, its quite busy and I know and have seen quite a few people riding alone, up until Conrad Drive at least, after Conrad it does get a little dodgy but if you with a decent size group (4+) I would go for it, I've done it a few time this ear and never had any issues, and it's a lekker ride. If you want, we've got a MTB whatsapp group with guys in the area (Linden, Northcliff, Greenside etc.), you can PM me and I'll add you to the group, we usually ride on Sunday morning from BG to Conrad, sometimes further, as well as Alberts Farm area, it's lekker 30km+ MTB ride, and sometimes more.
  8. Wife's family, obviously not related to me, they even own an E-Bike... 🫣
  9. I hope I don't get flak for this, but I didn't get a permit, not even sure whether I was supposed to...😬 I went in and parked, took my bike and rode. I didn't see anyone with boards or read anything on the sign at the entrance that said I needed a permit. I started at 6:30. I met a few other guys on the trail and they assured me that it was pretty safe to ride alone. For Bloemendal you definitely need a permit. Enjoy
  10. Hey guys, I had a spectacular ride at Tokai on Wednesday. Rode up to the top of the jeep track heading towards 'Silvermine', crossed paths with a guy that told me about the climb to the masthead, so took one the downhills to take me back to the main jeep track and rode up to the masthead as well. Never climbed like that before in my life, but what an achievement it was getting to the top. Then coming down, the downhill sections were incredible, had the time of my life. Thanks again for all the advice. Spending a week on the garden route now and looking forward to doing some riding here as well.
  11. Hey guys, planning to go ride at Tokai tomorrow morning, about 6:30am. Any advice? I know it's short notice, but if there's anyone that would like to join me. Let me know.
  12. Thanks everyone for all the advice, just finished a fantastic ride at Bloemendal. Sitting here sipping a coffee at the parking now. Thanks to all the guys I met at the trail this morning that gave me directions, and especially Eric who rode with me up to the Mast at Contermanskloof. Also rode magic forest. You guys here in CT are really lucky.
  13. Are there good trails close to Constantia?
  14. Yeah, I see it's about a 40min drive from where I am. I would love to go there, but my wife has an itinerary for us here in CT, so have to be back in time. Going to try and make a plan, don't come to CT very often.
  15. Planning to go to Tygerberg tomorrow, are these all part of the Tygerberg network?
