Decided Downhill/Freeride is the way to go. Upgrading a 2005 Scott Nitrous 30. Anyone have any info or suggestions.........

If I ride a 17inch or 18inch XC Mountain bike frame, what size Downhill frame would be the right size for me. I am considering purchasing a downhill bike(possibly secondhand) but have no clue as to what size frame.

The Kona Kula was far superior to the Cindercone, especially regarding the parts. (Discs etc) But the frames of both bikes were amazing. You cant go wrong with the Kula. Take it for a test ride, you wont be sorry.

At the time when I purchased my bike, I took the Kona Kula for a test run. What a bike.... Unfortunately I could not afford to spend that amount of money at the time so bought me a Cindercone with upgraded parts. You must also take into account the aftersales service. Even though Kona dont have a sole distributer in SA. I have had unbelievable service through Kona Europe and Maverick Cycles...

I would definitely suggest the KONA, but I am totally biased. The giant is also great....

Hey all.... Thanks for all the great advice, went to the bike shop. Tested out a few rides, Scott Reflex 20, Scott Scale 60....even the GT 1.0 disc. I tried 16"; 17" and 18". But the best of them all was definitely the Kona Cindercone(the 16 fitted like a glove. Will upgrade the parts sometime next month but i couldnt have made a better choice. Thanks once again for all your advice...

I have decided to buy myself a 06 Kona Cindercone. Any got this bike or have any views of it. Im going for a bit of a smaller frame(16 inch) for more control.

Im about 5.9(167cm)_ give or take a bit. I can get a very nice MTB but only in a 16 inch. Do you think the bike will be a bit too small.
