  1. Suunto won't work under water. As for the rest it is the best.

  3. Oh dear! Have I offended the cognoscenti? Perhaps amid all the efforts to diss a supposed newbie, someone might have an answer for all those thousands of riders out there, like Onetime, who have never experienced this problem? But on this forum, opinions resoundingly resemble a$$holes - everyone seems to have one and lots of them are smelly. FYI JB, I'm not new here and in terms of who can learn what from whom, I'll willingly take my chances. And if any of the mouths here (including the foul ones like snitch) bothered to fit a Spec bottle into a Spec cage, they might see what was designed for what. I'll defy you to get that bottle to jump the cage. But if you're expecting all bottles to fit all cages then I'll rest my case and leave you experts to your devices. Perhaps, amid all the running up and down to government agencies, JB can go to someone and get legislation in place to standardize bottles. Till then I'll not be sympathetic to self-proclaimed experts mouthing off about bad design and pulling products because they think so. I'm still waiting for evidence of a Spec bottle jumping a Spec cage. Remember what Naas said - "Cowboys don't cry!"
  4. Why don't you go and look at the lip on the bottom of a Spec cage? Or is that beyond your need to try and be facetious? Then tell me the lip is too small. For all the little JB acolytes I'll repeat - with a Spec bottle this problem is absent. But then, this is THE HUB so me the fool for expecting different.
  5. JB why don't you save your gratuitous comments for your coffee club? Bad design and testing? Recall products? Rubbish? Puhleeez! Were the right bottles used to match the cages? Probably not .... But hey, this won't stop you spewing your opinion. In cases like this it is typically an arbitrary bottle without the correct profile for the cage that gets bounced out and slides down to cause the damage.
  6. Urban legend! Frames flex less on an IDT than they do on the road. The biggest danger is from sweat damage.
  7. This sounds like a repetitive strain injury and can be traced, one way or another, to your setup on the bike. However, unless you go to a really skilled fitter, you're not going to get much joy as there are very few indeed in our industry. Typically, if your core activity is cycling, the top-of-hamstring strain is a result of "reaching" with that leg. The problem is, what is causing the reaching? This could be anything from excessive forefoot varus to incorrect saddle width to incorrect saddle height to incorrect handlebar reach or drop. Or it could be leg length discrepancy (skeletal or functional) or a pelvic rotation. So really, in the absence of a really skilled fitter, don't expect the solution to be much more than pure luck. You're in the Western Cape. PM me and I'll refer you to someone who could assist.
