  2. Who can assist? I understand the XTR Pedals are serviceable. Where in Gauteng can I buy a Service kit for a set of XTR Pedals? Would you reccommend servicing or replace in total? My L/H Pedal seal is missing & grease weeping out. Play on pedal, however after opening I managed to correct the play but see that the seal is missing... Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks

mrparx, Make contact with Jon Ivins on jon@jonivins.com or visit his website http://www.jonivins.com I bought the double DVD Package from last years Race & Adventure. I am sure he should have more info on previous Sani2C's. I also know Big Shot Media do a lot of work with Farmer Glen himself regarding footage. http://bigshotmedia.co.za/ I am sure this info will help. Enjoy
  5. I must agree with Chubba! I've been for a couple of set-up's since I have started cycling. From Cyclelab to CycleFit (Arran Brown). None of them bad, however technology & geometry of bikes keep on changing & one need to keep up with it. I recently went for a BG Fit set-up at Specialized Melrose in JHB. The Master Bike Fitter was Mark Williams. He did the set-up on both my road bike & mtb. It was a 4 hour set-up with all I need to know & more. From seat to cleats to shoe inserts to the correct pressure in the front & rear shock of the mtb. It cost me R900.00 but worth every cent. After 6 weeks you go for a follow-up session to dicuss, recheck & alter any settings you still have a concern after your trial. I have done a couple of races since then & all my previous aches & pains have gone... Furthermore I personally feel my output power on the bikes improved looking at some past & current results. This I only decided to do after testament of a cycling partner of mine & was very sceptical about the setup, however I am now convinced it is the way to go!!! I am sure that Concept Cyclery - Powered by Burry Stander in Waterfall does the same. Good luck & believe me you will make the correct choice !!!
  6. SteveCT, Point taken, I am however quite meticulous about my magnet being close to the sensor as the Polar is rather sensitive, therefore I have ruled out this error. This past weekend after the last two Trailseeker Events showed different results to the actual distance, I also went the route as to ask people about their own calculations on the 94.7 MTB Challenge. For instance, a friend of mine with the same wheel size, rim & Polar got the same 46km instead of some guys measuring 53 & 56mm respectively. The organizers mentioned 53km at the start. I know what you say, however I am still stuck at which way to go... I also agree my initial process was the most logical / scientific way, but why the big discrepanies? I will ahve to do a lot more investigation into this!
  7. Thanks Siggie & NINER_boy.... I also think lesser of a measurement is the trick... I will try the settings you mentioned !!! Much appreciated...
  8. Thanks Splat... LOL Patches... AndreZA: Agree what you say, I also had that thought in the back of my head however after this weekends 94.7 MTB Challenge the route was set to be 50km, then organizers mentioned 53km at the start however some guys ended up measuring 56km. Our Polar's only registered 46km.... That is what sparked my concern!!!
  9. Please could someone assist me with the correct setting in (mm) for my Polar RS800CX for a 29er Wheel? The sizing of my wheel is as follows: 29 x 2.0 (50-622). I have visited a website www.bikecalc.com/wheel_size_math & used the corresponding size of 2273mm. I however measure a race of 40km still around 5km or so too short.... I also performed the exercise where I have measured my rim by making a mark on the ground at the valve & then another after one full revolution. The distance then measures a total of 2282mm, however this size also does not help me to get close to closing the gap of a 5km difference. If someone has done this before on a Polar, kindly share with me or let me have your valuable suggestions? Thanks
