  1. bored of spez (brain -yuck), cannondale (hate the squeak), trek (whatever) etc looking for a bike that is capable of being raced (one day and multi stage races) yet retains character, is fun and not a nightmare to service. new bike ideas; Santa Cruz Blur Pyga Stage Norco Revolver any others to consider ?
  2. had a quark for 3 years - not one issue rotor 2in one road crank - multiple issues with battery and some erratic readings from what i read power2max is great - check out dc rainmaker review so either of 2 will be great
  3. half of the complaints on this thread were typed on samsung 9 or apple whatever R20k phones. in 10 years we will all be rolling on wireless something . its like LP's - they are cool but which artist makes a career out of releasing them? tech is prevalent in every aspect of our lives, embrace it..it will trickle down to even the level of the LG phone user. typed on an overpriced (but brilliant) MacBook pro.
  4. yeah i have seen them on net..thanks for recommendation
  5. ok change of direction best headphones for training on IDT. my Jaybirds died.
  6. FTP is representation of your ability to generate power for a 1 hour effort. so in ideal world you would do hour one effort to generate data. the shorter the time frame of test the higher the probability of deviance. 20 minute is accepted norm with a 4 or 5 minute anaerobic burn off before (to ensure that you dont use anaerobic power to artificially increase your number). my take is if you cannot do 20 minutes in a test then its an indicator that the power you are pushing will never be sustainable for 1hr. ramp test , 2 x 8 minute and even Xert software all are good alternatives. most important is to measure on regular basis, personally i used Xert software to modulate the FTP and came within 1 % of my test data. so there is an option to never 'bleed' and have an accurate number. worst case is using data from a one year old test. so whichever test you do is better than no test, if you are going to test then do 20 minute IMO.
  7. I was taken out by some idiot who did not even have decency to stop...went straight into the water canal after WP1 (in leading bunch)..thanks to the guys who fished me out and waited for ambulance to arrive
  8. santa cruz moved to cycle lab, after years of having its brand grown by boutique store owners. i am sure many smaller shop owners are PISSED off. Bottom line is if you dont have exclusivity rights or own the brand for SA you are always at risk of losing agency or having a neighbour store stock same product. this is not the 1st time and will not be the last. this thread should never even have started. its unfair to the new distributor, as cool as the previous distributor was they did not leverage the brand sufficiently. you want niched, go buy a bespoke bike made to order (probably by a subsidiary of Giant)
  9. how many other cases have been removed? any answers from SAID? one guilty record should remain.
  10. ASG should be investigated by competition commission re acquisition of races from independent owners. They have bought out most of the races on highveld, prices have soared over last few years and simply there is far more value in mtb events then in road races. they can afford to run like Telkom as they have wiped out a lot of smaller guys.
  11. thank you for the update guys. this is going to be a real mess for seeding of events for a while..
  12. hi guys what has happened to SAS seeding... barberton i was given a racetec board. cannot get into site for a while now.. any news?
  13. thanks! PS: is 2inpower coming to mob rotor cranks?
  14. hi guys does anyone know - will the rotor rings play nicely with eagle?
