  1. I see things in SA continue on their downward spiral...
  2. Damn that's cheap, send me a container will you...
  3. After last year I said never again... This year while riding home I had numerous discussions with myself around never again... Today I was discussing training plans with all the guys I ride with to see how I could do the sub 3 thing with a possible trip to our southern region for the Argus next year. I wonder what first world ailment I could attribute these stupid decisions to.
  4. They were at medical school together, and I guess this is payback for me spying on them in their bikinis or less... Each time I visit I get asked what first world problem I have this time... Gout, ulcer, gout again, broken junk...
  5. I hope it’s still happening, been looking forward big time to this one.
  6. For the toes thing I was always told I should be riding a 50/51 and constantly had numb fingers and little toes, fitment did zero to help. Since changing to a 55 those issues, as well as my numb junk are gone. The numbness was very strange, the only thing I could feel was a sort of vibration all the time, not a nice one. It was as if I could feel with each heart beat the blood moving through, freaked me out properly. First thing my doctor did was call my cousin to tell her my junk was broken.
  7. The guy riding with the baggies perhaps? Whatever he had for breakfast was working.
  8. Well it worked fine until that point. Now I’m not so sure, junk might just be fitting; will need to confirm with the wife or the girlfriend perhaps to see what they have to say now...
  9. Be thankful it wasn’t your junk going numb, woke up in the early hours a while back and went to go pee with some stuff just not right. Could slap it and felt nothing. This has forever changed the relationship between my doctor and I... Sorted with some bike fitment.
  10. That’s brilliant, well done; what device are you using?
  11. Substitute riding with “camping”...
  12. Don’t worry, I kicked one of those pedestrians in Randburg CBD; beautiful moment, got lots of cheers from fellow cyclists.
  13. Maybe I need to ride the spruit, I’m only one short of double figures as far as removing scum from the world goes; sounds like a party.
  14. Almost forgot... To the absolutely stunning lady who dropped me in Douglasdale...
  15. Cramping for over 100km ain’t fun. Stupid me decided to ride from home to the start and back again. I look like a properly roasted something vaguely resembling a tomato and I’m still cramping. All that aside it was an awesome day, my thoughts go out to those in the various accidents I saw; those who made it....
  16. The reality in SA, it’s only a matter of time before something like this happens to you or someone close to you. Being prepared only gets you so far and if you’re not mentally capable of taking the life of another human being then being armed with anything at all is going to end badly for you or someone close to you. If these criminals identity you as a target there is nothing you’re going to be able to do. Anyone with sympathy for a criminal bleeding out, you need to rethink your outlook on life. When you’ve had your best friend of 15 years shot dead next to you for no reason at all, you will change. When your defenseless mother is shot in her driveway for no reason at all, you will change. When your friends are shot during a robbery at a party for no reason at all, you will change. This country has failed its people. Well done South Africa, well done...
  17. Yeah, sorry SA; I’m out.
  18. Second race in a row now where I look at the results and think something isn't right. I had a friend come in after me on the Carnival City race and his time was quicker than mine; we started in the same group. Strava confirms the finish times as being incorrect. Who know, I don't particularly care; not exactly doing this for the podiums.
  19. What's with the messed up average speeds in the results?
  20. I'd happily go to the dentist day after day than have another gout attack. So many people I know suffer badly from it, first world diet problems hey.
  21. There’s a reason why I won’t bother taking any of my bikes to any shop no matter what. The only word I have to describe my feelings after collecting a bike or bikes from very nearly all the shops within a 20km radius is this: disappointment. Pride is not something many people seem to take in their work anymore. I’ll happily pay double or triple if I know it’s going to be done right; unfortunately my trust levels are somewhat low.
  22. I'm not on WasteoftimeIhavebetterthingstobedoingBook but you're welcome to add me to the list of people who say yes. One condition though, you have to promise that you and mother nature discuss the conditions for the day and come to some sort of agreement about there being zero wind. To all those very tired looking people who enjoyed being pulled along by me on the last 10km only to all jump past right before the line, you're welcome.
  23. Sweet, I’ll be done by 9.
  24. That wind was crazy bad, hope the guys who fell in the bunch are okay. Wasn’t a pretty sight.
